ISO?

It's Saison. $398 per person without wine pairing. If you're still hungry a Taco Bell is close.

Supposedly quite the experience.

I go every week

Go every week to saison or taco bell?

I could never imagine how great the food would have to be for $400 a plate. In fact my simple taste buds wouldn't even know it's that good.

Looks like beer release lines just got more fashionable.

Those are at least funny. The mule shirt and lost profits is pretty good.

Yeah I was going to groan but those two are pretty funny and the rest of them at least have clean, simple designs. Plus they are those really nice Next Level blended shirts. I might actually order the mule or profits one.

I think he's from CA, so I'm going Manresa or OG French Laundry.
IIRC those are more expensive than that, at least French Laundry. Manresa might be right.

I miss the days when Lazy Bear was a popup, it was like $80 for a tasting menu that rivals any I've had. Now they have at least one star and it's waaaaay more expensive but essentially the same quality. Oh well, can't eat out with the kid anyway.

Got reservations for a tasting menu in Aug that's going to be an easy $1k after drinks for the two of us. Will totally be worth it.

wat

i need details. will there he hot & cold ********? meals for a month?

After the collapse of American Apparel, Next Level is definitely easing into that "supersoft quality shirt" niche really well. The fact that I can buy blanks of their shirts on Amazon for like $4 each doesn't hurt either.

Sounds like some delicious wine too. Where are you going?

My first thought was Masa which is in that price range but I think EMP and some other spots can reach that price if you include the wine pairings.

Kasher guessed it, we're headed to TFL. It's our anniversary, though that's really just a good excuse. Depends how we approach drinks, but the pre paid tasting menu is already $660 or something, so I don't doubt we'll be over $1k by the end of the night. I'm just happy we got reservations!

It's not just the food you're paying for, it's the overall experience. Dinner usually takes 3+ hours and you get a whole bunch of small plates. It's certainly not something that I would expect everyone to enjoy, but my wife and I love it and will definitely budget for it.

I don't view this much differently than someone getting really expensive backstage passes for a concert. You are getting an experience that can't be replicated elsewhere.
