I remember Denmark was flush with BCBS Vanilla (OG version) when that came out for some reason. People were actually doing international trades to get that one back to the US.

I'm still waiting for regular BCBS to be available longer than about 4 hours on Black Friday (with a two bottle limit) around here.

I mean, I would think "the plan" would be to semi-saturate parts of the US market; but who knows, maybe it is/will be more a matter of straight profit margins. Send it to the markets that will simply pay the most.

I'm pretty sure my local bottle shop still has some. I'll check it out and would be happy to c+s some for you.

They had a few cases of non infected 2015 come in from the distributor a few weeks ago.

Slow day at work, so for the first time in a while, I'm actually reading the BA forums a bit.

Something like that anyway.

There's an online AAL tasting going on RIGHT NOW, guys. And let me tell you how compelling the thread is. Wow.

Some of their regular posters seems to have some slightly different habits than ours; I see disappointing gif work. Some lessons may be needed. There is one guy, however, who is an absolute expert at quoting something he posted x years ago; what would he do on a new website, one wonders? Also, do we have the need for an expert on labels? Like, a serious expert on labels. Really. Just labels.

Was thinking of talking extensively about the Trump presidency instead. Good?

Having people over tomorrow to grill and the gf asks what they should bring, I said they can bring beer.

She replies, don't you have a ton of beer, you def have enough for everyone.

No, no I don't have beer for everyone. She doesn't get it

Bust out the high abv beers, see where the night takes you.

I miss the days when Lazy Bear was a popup, it was like $80 for a tasting menu that rivals any I've had. Now they have at least one star and it's waaaaay more expensive but essentially the same quality. Oh well, can't eat out with the kid anyway.

Little late to the party on this, but holy **** someone else who knew about Lazy Bear as a popup! I basically learned to cook by reading Barzelay's blog circa-2011, and I spent a night 'volunteering' in the kitchen in 2013 when Lazy Bear was at Chez Poulet. Came back as a diner the next night, loved every minute of it. I went to the brick & mortar Lazy Bear in 2015, and it was fine, good even, but absolutely nothing like the popup experience. But that's what happens when you go legit, I suppose.

Okay, done now. talklazybear.com?

Ate at Lazy Bear last night and if that was only "good", I can't imagine what it was like as a pop up. It was absolutely amazing.

I like PC Pils, 15 pack for $18 isn't a terrible deal. Very crushable and good flavor and some more hops than a standard Pils but not crazy.

On sale for 12.99. Winning. A couple are on the freezer. I've been trolling a local group who are obsessed with nothing but hops by posting chug videos and I'm all out of hoppy beers.

There was plenty of it in the UK too. I think BCBS is generally available at the Goose Island bar in London when it comes out. Nobody really seems to care though

All through the Olympics in 2012 there were bottles of BCBVS in the fridges at Tap East by the stadium in Stratford, being ignored by various IAAF officials. I think I went through 3-4 bombers by the closing ceremony.

A few years back, I won Super Bowl squares and had a metric **** ton of high abv beers. We had a St. Pattys day party and I broke out some of the higher abv 750s later in the night to share with the stragglers. The night ended with one of my best friends performing a rap duet with the neighbor, while his wife sang choir-style back up vocals and I played guitar.

I dont know how to play guitar.

Have you eaten at many other fine dining establishments in the city? If so, care to compare?

I thought Lazy Bear was good, but not great. The experience was pretty awesome though, very cool to just get up and watch the chefs plate up close and ask questions. We may have just had an off night on the food as well, but it didn't compare to Progress (still haven't gotten around to State Bird yet) or even Nopa in my opinion.

Haven't been to those places, but Lazy Bear compares well to pretty much every place I've been, including Pierre Gagniere (though the ambiance is quite different from that one). The only real exception was In De Wulf, which has sadly closed. Eventually we'll get around to trying some of those other places, but man, going out is hard.

I haven't, so I can't compare. I agree with the concept and vibe putting things over the top (and probably skewing my feelings a little). The fact that the vibe was so relaxed but the food so refined was special imo. The experience is probably 25% of it.

Babysitter, it's worth it. Though finding a babysitter is its own challenge.
