What in the hell is going on here? Beerontwowheels you're in Maryland, any idea what this is about?

Been hearing a lot of reports that some Aslin cans are overcarbed, possible refermentation issues. Some people are even been claiming that cans are literally exploding. I'm not 100 percent certain this is the case, but that's what i've heard. Also complaints that the quality of their beers have been slipping recently. Again, this is just gossip, and you know how beer nerds can get with the ******* gossip.

Please tell me you invented this for the purposes of this joke and the "volcano pour" is not actually a thing. As if the ******* iceman pour wasn't bad enough...

Still lots of time left in 2017 for this to end up being true both ways, friend ;)

It's like the ultimate act of conspicuous consumption in beer, right? "Oh yeah this sought after triple barrel aged barleywine? Volcano poured that bitch like a bawws. Ain't no waiting for slow pours at our shares."

You ain't a true bawws untill you snort the rest of the spilled over beer off the table tho.

Is anyone outside of Perennial/Side Project doing a mixed fermentation Belgian style Witbier? Need more of these in my life.

Random thought: Pretty crazy to see how vigilant some people get online for something like backing out of a trade. I have 100% perfect trading etiquette but I'm seeing people just get roasted to all hell for all kinds of stuff. The lynch mob mentality in some of these groups isn't even what amazes me, its the need for random people to get involved and become the beer police. Now I am very involved at policing a line for a release or something, but people spend hours and hours just bashing some stranger online for backing out of a trade that hasn't been shipped yet. In some cases it gets to the point of family members of the accused being harassed, etc.. What does everyone think about this? Seems like some people have such a strong passion for being beer police. Its not the fact they are called out, or that I have a problem with that. Its just kind of odd to me how far people go with this stuff....just an outlet to hate or bully someone to relieve their own stress or something. Lynch-mob mentality. Before anyone asks, no I don't have any friends that have been involved in this kind of thing and have no horse in the race, just looking to see what everyone's opinions are.

Entitlement. It's a thing.

I don't really trade anymore but I think if someone agrees to set up a trade and all the bottles are agreed too and info is exchanged then cancels (without good reason like job issue family issue other things) it's bad form but not a bad trader.

If you are kicking the ft / iso around and can't agree to a deal than I see no issue just saying nevermind I'm looking for other things.

I largely agree with this, but if you're referring specifically to (or were inspired by) that shitshow today on FB BeerTrader ISO:FT, I think the vitriol there is largely a product of other past events involving the individual in question (which have been documented in this thread, I believe, or maybe one of the "shittiest deals" threads).

But in general if someone flakes on a trade and nothing of substantive value has been lost (and no beer has been purchased specifically for that trade that wouldn't have been otherwise), a person should just file that individual into their personal "do not trade" list and move on. Maybe tell some friends about it as a warning to avoid or whatever.

Used to trade with strangers in the mid to late 2000s and one of the reasons that I stopped was that people started feeling that they deserved something special from the trade outside of what had been agreed upon and didn't appreciate when I went out of my way to do so. This was especially infuriating if they were the ones that initiated the trade. The "rare" and "whale" craze also had a lot to do with this. IMO, people should trade equal face-value not perceived value, unless someone is looking for something super rare and specific.

After that behavior became more prevalent, I started to only trade with people that I knew. Now I just send people beer (mostly homebrew) and don't give a **** if they send beer back. Works out better that way.

Which one? I'll make sure to put them on my avoid list.

It's Greenport. But I don't think they should be blacklisted, they do make some pretty good beer. It's with a local, new bread maker, so I think it's just them trying to help out another local business get some exposure.

That being said, I still think the general idea is dumb.

Please tell me that the bread is made with the spent grains from the brewery. That would make the $40 they are charging even more absurd.

It's not mentioned on the event page, so I'm guessing not. Thank God. Another reason Greenport gets a pass is because they hosted a DockDogs event last week that let me hang out with dozens of awesome dogs and drink beer all day.

finally tried one of these Angry Chair stouts last night... THIS is what everyones jizzing their pants over? Not a drainpour but certainly tough to finish. Jesus.

The new kids all love nasty ass tasting ****, i mean have you had most of the NEIPAs out there? No thanks.

Certainly depends on which one...I had most of everything at their Tampa Beer week event and I'd say half were mediocre and half were amazing. Not surprisingly, my favorite had the longest acronym: BAIGCCCS

First couple I had tasted like they had pennies soaked in them or were too sweet but the Imperial Cupcake thing was tasty (as pastry stouts go).

This. Those horrible NEIPAs have become ubiquitous. So many spicy, slimy, yeasty messes.
