I actually thought that was who posted the previous post under your login.

My bad. BearBrew00 only had 34 sacks, not 35. Wussy....

Spreadsheet updated. It shows 70 sacks.

1 more sack will be added for sure (the MO split with Chad..... we just haven't decided on a brand yet).

And there is another person who wants in (he just PM'ed me) but he won't be sending me specifics until later tonight.

Unreal.

Oh... and I'm pretty sure we're gonna hit 4000#. With the MO not yet specified, we are at 3,835 lbs

3 more 55# sacks would put us at exactly 4000.

But, now that 4000# looks like a possibility, I am not sure I understand the pricing in the catalog

It has a 1000 lb and under price, a 2000-4000 lb price, and 8000 price, and a 12000 lb price.

There are some holes in there, yes? Like.... 1500#. Or 5000#. What rate do those get? REELALE? Do you know?

ah, hell... forget it.

the next price break is only about $0.01/lb on most things. That's not even worth tracking. Screw it.

Those are quantity price points, or bins if you will. For instance, you pay the same price for 4000-7999 lbs. Has nothing to do with previous price discount once you hit the next bin.

I understand how it SHOULD work, but their charts don't make sense.

They state a price for under 1000, and then there is a price bucket from 2000 to 4000.

1500# falls into one of those two buckets.

You're right, 1500 falls directly in the bucket that is marked >1000<2000. That is the quantity that gets the price point break.

I still don't understand, but... whatever. :D

(I don't see a bucket marked >1000<2000)

Does this help? It's from their 2010 catalog, I didn't check their latest.

Prices are discounted according to the total malt ordered on a single order. These price breaks are as follows:
 ≤ 1,000
 2,000 – 4,000 lbs.
 8,000 lbs.
 12,000 lbs.
 32,000 lbs

That's the same thing printed in the new catalog. I'm just saying that it doesn't really make sense.

If I had to guess, I would say that:

The first bucket is for less than or equal to 1000#.
The second bucket is for 1001# to 7999#.
The third bucket is for 8000# to 11999#.
The fourth bucket is for 12000# to 31999#.
The fifth bucket is for 32000# or more.

If that's the buckets, they did a piss-poor job of explaining it. The weird description of the first two buckets is my point of confusion.

Most are just listed as a weight value. But those first two are listed as ranges instead of a singular weight, and those being ranges with holes between them and the buckets next to them.... That's what's confusing.

Yep, those are the categories. Except the 2d bucket is any quantity more than 2000 lbs. but less than 4000 lbs. And the third price break does not occur until you exceed 8000 lbs. I can't defend their definitions, but I think it's just assumed that the more you order, the less you pay, per unit (lbs.) based on their set price point breaks. I think they deal in larger much quantities routinely.

It still has holes in it, but.... whatever. I don't even care.

Everyone should just assume that we are getting the 2000-4000 price, cause it's unclear what happens when we land between 4000 (the top end of this bucket) and 8000 (the next price break). :D

I added the split bag of MO for me and Chad, and BrewBear00 upped his order by one sack. We are at 72 bags (3885 lbs). (At least one guy is still going to send me his order request tonight.)

marc06 is in for 5 sacks.

total is at 79 sacks (4265 lbs... aka "a metric f*ck ton")

5 more and sacks and the 2nd pallet is full.

Any idea what the shipping duration typically is from the day the order is placed?

You can assume about a week just to be safe. Once we get an idea when the order will arrive, I will work out what day works best for the guys at Fullsteam for us to come pick it up. They don't want us there on a brewday again.

With that being said, we may want to cut this off at 2 pallets just in case it's gonna be a few days between when the order gets there and when we can pick up. I don't want out **** to be in their way. We can always just do another orer if someone gets left out. This seems to be a much easier way to do it for all parties involved. Other than me of course now that I have 2 full pallets to deal with.

a metric f*ck ton = 2205 lbs +/- several f*ck drams
2 metric f*ck tons = 4410 lbs +/- several f*ck drams

And 2 pallets is probably a good spot to stop unless we've got a lot more interest. Like I said, I'm not in a rush. If we ordered by Friday, we could probably pick it up Friday next week.

we are at 80 sacks now.

I am not going to upload the spreadsheet just yet. I want to first PM a couple folks who had put things like, "I might get another sack, too" when they sent their requests.

I can't believe how much grain we're buying. And that someone got more than me. I was dead set on winning, but 30 sacks.... I'm sure my wife would draw the line at throwing away the furniture to make room for sacks of grain. Or putting a silo in the back yard.

And this was awfully well organized for a disorginization.

BrewBear's 35 sacks is being split between 3 guys, but I only have the one name to track them with.

You can use the sacks like beanbag chairs.

Or putting a silo in the back yard.
I think Dallas is drawing up plans for one of these.

And this was awfully well organized for a disorginization.

Yeah.... I'm very disappointed in how organized we are for this. Pisses me off.

I've been trying to talk Dallas into a brew house. We could even attach a silo to the back with a shute into the brewhouse.

I have PM'ed everybody involved in this buy so far to let them know that we are close to calling it DONE.

The only people I could not PM were "joeybeer" and "NCBeerbut", because the PM boxes were full.

I will upload the spreadsheet in a few minutes with the latest status.

I have double-checked the prices for each grain being purchased in the order (using the 2000-4000 bucket) and they are correct.

It is the BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY to check that their individual part of the order page is correct.

When it comes time to pay, I will send out explicit instructions for how to do this via PayPal. If you do it the wrong way, Reelale will be hit with transaction fees, and that will piss him off. :D
