Not soon enough
I've heard a beer store in CA was selling some Raspberry Solstice d'été in July but I don't know how they got it and if DDC shipped a lot of it to the States...Quick question figure this thread is good enough to post does Du Ciel's Berliner make it to the states? I was under the impression that it didn't.
From my understanding, NY got some too. Not sure if this is bottles or on tap only thoughQuick question figure this thread is good enough to post does Du Ciel's Berliner make it to the states? I was under the impression that it didn't.
ok I had a friend in central NY bought some and was surprised to see that so I wonder if it was legally brought in or not, lol. From my understanding, NY got some too. Not sure if this is bottles or on tap only though
A friend of mine working at DDC was so puzzled about the fact that the western part of Canada got some Solstice that he had to double check internally. So Solstice could have landed in Nepal and I wouldn't be surprised too much.ok I had a friend in central NY bought some and was surprised to see that so I wonder if it was legally brought in or not, lol.
I guess it's still on the shelves there too...
Auval does great stuff so far. It just sucks that people are actually getting them mostly to re-flip them instead of drinking them. But hey, you know, isn't it what craft beer is about these days?
Auval will definitely be the best brewery for 2016 in Quebec. Just need to ramp up the production.
Re-flip? Holy **** Quebec beer nerds are ambitious.Auval does great stuff so far. It just sucks that people are actually getting them mostly to re-flip them instead of drinking them. But hey, you know, isn't it what craft beer is about these days?

Honestly, this weekend I had both Dixieme & the barrel-aged Baltic Porter from LTM and thought both we excellent.Re-flip? Holy **** Quebec beer nerds are ambitious.
Just drank yo ****. I don't know of anyone outside Qc who is looking for this (or uber rare single barrel LTM BP) and if they are, not what some of these fuckwads want for it. Delusional.
Its like trying to trade MI distro/brewery only stuff. No one wants.
Sadly, the re-flipping works locally, because, you know the drill, a bunch of dude in Montreal does all the store, get all they can and just trade after in an attempt to get "larger" or rarer bottles (between you and me, a lot of those traders ends up asking for Loons....).Re-flip? At least the beer is goodIt's no different here in Vermont.
Local & out of state people hang around beer stores waiting for Lawsons & Alchemist deliveries and trade most of the beer that they get. It's sad because it's difficult for some of us locals to even try some of the limited offerings.
Sounds like Boston. At least the beer is goodIt's crazy how a lot people here ends up buying all the rare stuff when it gets release, then overhype the bad ones just because they don't want them to lose trade value.
Mostlikely makinig a trip up to Quebec,QC over memorial day. Any recent releases I should keep my eyes peelt for?
Bumping this thread to try and get a sense if there are any must hit spots in Quebec City. I'll be in town in a few weeks and am looking for good beer and wine recommendations. Thanks in advance!
**** it and Forget Auval. Seriously. The production is very, very tiny. The owner wants to produce enough to just survive and doesn't want to make profit. That was said publicly. They make good products, but definitely not worth the hassle of chasing them. Auval will sell bottles at its location in Gaspésie, which is roughly 10 hours away from Montréal (7 hours from Québec City). They will distribute somewhat regularly in the eastern part of Quebec, around 2-3 hours away from Québec City. Are Auval bottles still stupid hard to get? I was up there in 2016 and never once saw one anywhere.
My wife and I went to Montreal and Quebec City for our 10 year wedding anniversary a couple years ago. In QC we had an amazing dinner at L'affaire est Ketchup. Solid selection of beer (bottles) and wine, too. Definitely need to call for reservations. We also had dinner at Le Moine Echanson and thought it was really good.
La Projet and Bateau du Nuit were great beer bars, and the only breweries I hit in the city were La Korrigane and La Barberie.
