I was in Pittsburgh over Easter weekend to see family. Stopped at Industrial Publick House. They have a coffee hazlenut stout on nitro that is pretty awesome. It was the best non-barrel aged hazelnut beer that I have ever had.

Headed to Cleveland for the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, not Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) and hoping someone might update me on good food/beer spots. TIA

I just scooped some platform cans when I was at VE last week and they were all really really good. I had the berliner with guava, the palesner and the white IPA. Crispy as all hell.

Have you been lately? I always suggest Great Lakes, if you've never been. That area's also pretty damn cool and has LOTS of beer and food joints. 25th Street has Market Garden, Town Hall, Nano Brew, and Bier Markt. I always dig any of the Melt locations and obviously Fathead's, The Brew Kettle, and Buckeye Beer Engine are all old standbys. Not as up to date on the newer places, like Platform that beerman6686 mentioned, but there are a handful of those as well.

A friend of mine was up there last week and ate at Lola and Mabel's. He said both places were awesome. He also said that the brisket at Mabel's was the best brisket he has ever had. I trust his judgment as the man likes to chew. Tap list was good there as well.

It looks like they're right next to each other. Both are downtown. Just never spend any time there when I'm in town. Maybe that needs to change?

I know you asked about Cleveland, but I suggest R. Sheas in Akron, OH if you have the time. Its about 30 mins from CLE.

As for Cleveland, Butcher and Brewer. If you like mussels, strongly recommended (thick cuts of bacon and maytag blue cheese). Get the Albino stout.

Michael Symons Mables BBQ is across the street. Pork belly is fantastic.
