Its my buddy's birthday and he keep hounding me to meet him for a drink at the bar... I'm chilling my wort right now, my question is, would it be OK to step out for an hour then when I get home wait for it to get to pitching temp before I add yeast? I'm guessing it will be in the high 50's when I get home... Thanks :)

Should be fine. You've probably already got your cold break.

Just don't get too hammered and f**k up your beer when you get home.

Lol thanks bud :) I thought it would be okay, just wanted to double check... Only been brewing for a year and a half and still learning little things here and there

Definitely been too impatient for the ice bath to cool the wort on a school night and gone to bed, leaving beer in kettle, outside. I did leave the lid on, and my buddy woke up early and pitched the yeast but it did sit out for like 5-6 hours. Beer tasted delicious, so I'm sure you are safe.
