What I didn’t know is that both the Spanish and Portuguese houses were indeed inspired by an Italian one, the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara. You were on to something, @DBhomebrewThat looks super familiar to me. Italy?
Looks like it was mentioned in one of his books... At least that's what a quick search tells me.
The connection I wanted to highlight was that this picture was taken in the same country as the previous one. Although the UK has some pretty particular views as to what is a “country” and what parts are in it or not.
