Not me, too far of a drive.

It's funny, I'm 15 mins from RAR, but I never go to these things. I just don't like dealing with people and crowds. I usually get someone to pick me up a four pack of each, then I'll meet them at the Royal Farms in Easton that's right off of 50.

Does RAR sell cans to go? Or is that like a release thing only. I'm heading to OC this weekend, and might stop by on sunday on my way back.

They have cans to go. Usually, it's just the basic stuff you can get at any liquor store. Sometimes, they'll have some stragglers from prior releases. They might have Wood'R, Grapefruit Nectar, and maybe something else. Plus, they'll fill crowlers.

They are extremely fast at responding to Facebook messages. Hit them up on there and ask what they currently have.

Haven't tried their Hidden Hopyard. Is it canned/distro'd?

Manor Hill's Kolsch has been a new go-to beer for me. Very solid. Would recommend picking up a sixer if you haven't tried it.
I had HH4 on draft. They canned earlier HH series, but I think they were/are brewery only, not distro'd.

Has anyone seen any 3F Armand & Gaston on the shelves in MD? I doubt I'll accidentally run into any, but wouldn't mind knowing I already missed that elusive bus.

All jokes aside, i would check with wine source. Go in and see if they got it or are getting it. They won't really tell you over the phone about limited stuff like that. Maybe Dawson's will get it too. Other than that, i have no idea where else you'd find it.

We saw Framboos last year, so why not A&G? I don't get out to Wine Source or Dawson's much anymore, too inconvenient with young child now.

Perfect Pour doesn't seem to have the same relationship with Shelton's local distributor any longer. Never see good **** at PP anymore...

Where did you see framboos last year? I know wine source got it, along with Hommage and Lou pepes.

And i also believe that perfect pour no longer works with shelton. That could be false, but i haven't seen any prairie, fantome, or struise stuff there the last few times i popped in, and one of the employees i talked to last time i was there said they haven't seen stuff from shelton in a long time.

It might have been 2014 when I got Framboos from PP. Can't remember.

In any case, I think you're right about the Shelton/PP relationship. Which sucks, because PP is the only decent & convenient beer shop on my commute home. Stopping by Wine Source adds a minimum extra 30 minutes of drive time, not to mention time spent shopping, etc. That's the difference between a happy 1.5 year old and a child who would chew my face off.

Not to mention the parking at wine source is horrendous at best. God forbid if you park across the street behind bank of america. I don't know if you have heard of this or not but there is this ****** with a tow truck that must have some sort of deal with the bank of america across the street, to tow as many cars as possible. I understand that parking is tight in Hampden, but this ******* makes it his mission to tow cars after the bank has closed or on holidays when nobody will use those spots for bank related business. He will hold your car hostage for 200 dollars or tow it if you don't pay him on the spot. *********. I think someday, he's gonna piss the wrong person off and get his ass kicked or his tires slashed. Hopefully both.

I've somehow miraculously always gotten parking at Wine Source. Driving down that alley, though, will destroy your tires.

Logistically, how does RARtoons operate? Like, do I need to be there before the doors even open? I really don't feel like waking up early tomorrow.

So Perfect Pour claims to still do business with Shelton's. It's just that they only get a delivery maybe three times a year.

I think I've avoided nearly every Jailbreak beer after I tried 'welcome to Scoville'. Is Dusk til Dawn any good?

Dusk til Dusk is sitting at a 4.49 based on 50 Untappd ratings. Reading the comments it sounds like barrel aged beetus, which we all know I'm a big fan of. I haven't loved too many of their beers but am going to give this one a try. Also hoping Watershed Moment is still on tap so I can try it.

I'm already off work Thursday so I figure why not.

Please report back how terrible it is.

I stopped by tonight for the Beta Taster release (bought well before they opened since I live a mile away). Grabbed a pour on draft and think the 4.49 is way too high of a rating. It's very thin for the ABV and while it has a lot of different layers/flavors as it warms, I didn't feel like they meshed well together and got hints of a barleywine. I did grab 2 4-packs to stash for the winter and revisit in cans, as this was not the beer for a 90 degree day. Also, seems like Watershed Moment is sold out as it was not on the board. I grabbed a sixer on Tuesday at Allview - it's for a great cause but just an average beer.

Appreciate the honest reviews.

First 40 or so pours today were completely still, then they fixed the carbonation and I'm really digging it. Sweet, silky, boozy. Taste reminds me of Utopias, has that port-like quality.

Edit: And I would totally peg this as an imperial stout/barleywine hybrid. I'd throw it in that BA Strong Ale hodgepodge category just to avoid making a decision. Don't care.

I'm going to be in Baltimore from 9/30 until the morning of 10/3. Other than a wedding on Saturday night (10/1), I have nothing planned. Is there anything interesting happening that weekend?

I was in town last year, so I'm familiar with a lot of the popular spots, but is there anything new in or near the city I should check out? I'll have a car, so if there's anything especially good out in the counties worth a trip I'd love to hear about that too.

Lastly, I know I'm going to have at least one really good dinner while there. Woodberry Kitchen seems probable, and I really enjoyed Parts & Labor last year, but I'd love some recommendations.

RAR brewing can release on 10/1 in the morning if you can make the time, and the trip. Hoof hearted collab and some awesome sounding stout, all cans.

Ok, so I know all the good Greek spots (go figure). If you want something "authentic", go to zorbas, or samos in Highlandtown. The area is not flashy but the food is great. A more classy spot would be mezze (or calis court located right next to it), in fels point, near Max's taphouse. Not as good food wise in my opinion, but near some great bars, and right on the water. Ouzo bay is also great, and located in harbor east, the ritzy part of town, good food with a twust

I'd also reccomend aldos in little Italy, and cinghiale if your in the mood for kick ass Italian food

Anyone know how busy these RAR releases get? I'll be near the brewery on saturday for the Hoof Hearted collab and ten-layer stout release. Contemplating on whether or not i should make the trip, or just wait till the line dies down.
According to their facebook, first 50 people are guarenteed a case of each.

Not sure if i show up at 10 am if there are going to be 200 people in line or something.

They seem to be selling out as of late. If you want some of these releases, you'll have to commit to getting there by 9am. Which is nuts, because RAR beer is good....but not "stand in line" good. 10 Layer is your typical Chocolate Stout from 10 years ago, but people go nuts for it.

I'm lazy and don't like beer releases, so I usually just see which of my friends are going, then have them meet me at the Royal Farms in Easton on their way back home. I either give them beer or cash for a 4 pack of each release (except that RAR/Aslin collab, which was horrendous).

If you decide to brave the line, lemme know :)

Ugh. I might be too hungover to get there an hour early and wait in line for that. I might try my luck and travel up there around 10:30, half hour after line dies down and see if they have any left, or get growler fills if they are sold out (if they have growlers of either).

Thanks for the heads up.

Shoot me a PM to let me know what it looks like (if you decide to make it out there). I wouldn't mind driving down, but I don't want to stand in line.

I'll try to remember to do that. My mind will be very fuzzy after a night of drinking at my buddy's bay house on Hoopers Island, which is part of the reason i am probably not going to get there an hour before the release.

I'm definitely not making it out to RAR this weekend. Does their stuff make it into Baltimore bars? Like, is Max's likely to have something, or are there any other particular places that seem to get their stuff? I'd at least like to try it while I'm in town.

Last time i was at Le Garage in hampden, they had a few on draft. They have a kind of small, but very good draft selection. Nice bottles too.

Max's has their draft list posted on their website fyi
