minneapolis/ st. paul,
So I have been brewing for a over a year now. I have been doing some of my own beers with great out comes. I repeatedly get asked if I can lighten up my light beer anymore. aka Lagers, and Kollech. I just tell them to go grab a coors light if thats what you want. Then I did a Wheat Beer, but with a pale ale yeast. It was really good beer, but i noticed it was a lot lighter then my other pale ales. It was hoppy like i like, and really easy to drink. The big difference is that for this 60min boil i started with 1lb Wheat DME, then after about 30 min i added the 6lbs Wheat LME. Did my late addition light up the beer, or was it just the combination of the malt, and yeast?

Yes. It was both things. Wheat is lighter than barley and doing a late extract addition will also lighten things up.
