Went to a bottleshare on the weekend and one of the guys brought a bottle of the Bokkereyder Framboos Noyaux. Incredibly fresh tasting with plenty of raspberries through the palate and perfectly balanced acidity. Carbonation was spot on. Everything tied together so well in this incredibly complex beer. I'd go so far as to say it is probably the best beer I have ever had. I feel honoured to have tried it.

Was that a gift to Ron Jeremy from Raf?

Are there really that many people itching to pay $200 for these bottles?

(And yes yes, I know it's cheaper than a flight to Belgium or secondary prices, that's still a lot of cash.)
Honestly, for a nice bottle I can age a bit to share for a very special occasion (10th wedding anniversary, friend's wedding, etc), I'll pay the $225 or whatever it costs for shipping and fees.

My card charges me $168 for 150 euro sooooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was adding shipping. But if you change it to $185 or whatever the point still stands, that's a lot to drop for a single bottle. It's just not the same thing as the previous sales. This will probably still be a shitshow because there's no such thing as a nice time in beer in 2017, but it seems really silly to me that people aren't stopping to think about whether some grape beer is actually worth that.

I mean, I guess, but with the money going to charity I see absolutely no issue with it. You and I both know it's silly to call it "some grape beer", because we both know it is expressly not that. That's not how this works and it hasn't worked like that for many years.

I can only imagine the secondary brokers/sellers and how pissed they are that their aunis will be going down hundreds in value.

I'm more worried about them shipping expensive lambic to my state where its like 95 degrees this time of year.
You know 50% of these will be listed on FB before they even ship.
