I tend to dislike tropical fruit in beer, but this was fine. Much passion fruit, little lambic. People were hauling those empty bottles around the fest looking like they'd found golden butt plugs.

Well to be fair, the other butt plug contenders just couldn't hold up to this one. Believe me.

And this is why we can't trust MBC and other resale sites. Refill with some gueuze and a little passion fruit, xxx, profit?

Considering that this batch was 100% earmarked for The Festival (minus the few bottles that made it to friends / family) I wouldn't touch a secondary market bottle with a 10 foot pole.

Did you hear that from JVR? I ask because this is the first I've seen anybody making a certain proclamation about whether or not any would see distro.

I didn't hear it from Jean, but based on conversations I had this weekend with folks who are more in the know than myself, I was told numerous times that this bottling was done as a one-off of about 30 cases exclusively for this event.

I guess time shall tell.

Well then, here's to hoping there's a future bottling being planned...

Apart from what Jean may or may not have kept for his own library, Shelton commissioned and purchased all of the bottled specifically for The Festival. I wouldn't get anywhere close to bottles not handed to me by Shelton or Cantillon. I imagine folks kept them as fetishes and ways to validate their own existence.

Or to take a picture of and upload to some dumb lambic website.

I would love to learn more about Fou Loko on lambic.info

I'm going to try one of the OWA lambics one of these days; which one is recommendable? Yuzu, Ume or Sakura?

I've found they are so widely variable that I wouldn't stress too much. Sakura was great one time I had it, and like potpurri and soap the next. Unless something has changed in the last few years

No problem. I know this stuff is typically luck and good timing. I was just clicking around and saw it (not sure how long it's been posted). These boards have been good to me in the short time I've been around, so hopefully this crew grabs some before it's gone. Happy drinking.

Meh - BIAB still not allowing shipping to West Coast. Even tried using an Arizona address and got the KB.

Likely for the best, no need for me to be spending that amount of money.
