Clean tasting bottle here too. Low carb, light fruitiness but quite sour and funky.
I have another couple of bottles to get to, hopefully they´ll be the same only with a little more carbonation over time.

The bottle I drank over the weekend was big on diacetyl and just wasn't what I had hoped. Will not be getting more.

The bottle I brought to an RB tasting did very well. Most rates around the 4 mark. The two bottles I've got left will probably suck based on what I've read. Think it's definitely worth a shot though.
+1. My bottle was just full of fruity, juicy, jammy goodness balanced by a good amount of tartness and moderate funk. Have three more bottles, must open another one soon for science.

Is it just me but I've never had a bad De Cam bottle? Everything including the 2002 Kriek I had last year has been decent to stellar.

The 375ml 2009 geuze bottles (yes, actual 2009 bottlings not later bottlings that reused labels) ranged from amazing to absolute turds. The first time I drank one it wow'd me so much I immediately purchased half a case more. Proclaimed its gloriousness to my buddies and shared one with them that was a drain pour. Opened up 2 more bottles that same night and it was like we were opened up 3 completely different beers.

Ive had the same outcome with kriek from them. Some did not even taste like beer, they were straight cherry juice with a little funk, other bottles were void of any fruitiness and painfully sour.

Agreed but have definitely noticed a lot of variance. Lambiek Special is one of my favorite fruited lambics, batch 2 bottles have ranged from solid to incredible. More so towards the incredible side of the spectrum.

Have never had a dud, even the completely flat b1 I opened recently was awesome.

Just had a 2011 Boon Geuze Mariage Parfait. Aside from a subtle plastic-like finish, this geuze seems to be on point. And for its availability + price, to me it’s an everyday drinker.

For anyone who has tried these, what’s its reputation on the streets? Should I shut up and be happy that these are cheaper/more available? Or am I in the minority (which is cool with me, more for me to drink)?

I love Boon MP. I dig the mineral-y character that I get from it. For the price, it's definitely hard to beat.

Like it a lot, but like MooseLang said, it's pretty mineral-y, which makes it a little more divisive than some.

I was stoked to grab a case of these off the shelf recently. Very drinkable geuze at 7%. Has a nice, classic Boon minerality that is far from overwhelming because of the balance from the funk, and the dryness of how this geuze finishes. Paired perfectly with Thai Curry pizza

To each his own, I got a Guy Fieri style boner when I saw that pizza

Guy Fieri once flipped me off and yelled something I couldn't understand at me because I walked through the middle of his shoot for DD&D that happened to me filming in my neighborhood. I called him a ****** and kept walking. True story.

My experience, when retellng story, make sure family members of person you called a ****** aint the person you tell story to.

Reaction when you unkowingly tell a girl her singer songwriter brother is a **** is interesting.

I'm sure it was something like Bro! Something something something That ain't cool, everyone look at me!

Boon Black Label is by far the gassiest beer I've ever had.

Drank it on friday night , had burps all night long.

I left some in the bottle, and poured this on SATURDAY night. A full 24 hours after opening.

Drank much better the second night. this might be a good candidate for decanting...

OGV 2010- virtually no carb. A little sweetness, musty oxidation, little blue cheese funk. Green apples, not very tart. If I looked hard enough I could make out a little slightly phenolic note as it warmed. First OGV I have had where I felt like I prefer just about any regular OG to it. It was still enjoyable and interesting. Almost seemed like it never quite fermented all the way to dryness or something.

This perfectly summarizes my feelings of a couple OGV bottlings ive had. I feel like im a dick for saying this but I truly feel like OGV bottlings are held back and not released as OG because something is "wrong" with them but then, with age they become better or different enough to get the OGV designation.

Just my stupid drunken opinion.

Which date? Every 2010 bottling I've had has been bright with ample carb.

It was 08/03/2010 from Open Beer Days release last year. 08 and St. Val OGVs were in league with the Lentes/Zomers/Golden Blends of the world for me. This one was more in league with an especially weird bottle of golden doesjel. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Very odd. I've had that same date twice now and while different both times, it was nothing like your description. Dat bottle variation doe
