What does everyone think about the 2011 vs 2014 releases of 3F Golden Blend? Close or further apart? I think the 2011 was blended mostly with 3F in-house brew, but of course the 2014 less so.

I was surprised that I enjoyed the 2014 much more than the 2011. '14 is just absolutely wonderful

I have always got better rates through debit/credit cards than PayPal even after 2% fees. Paypal exchange rates are always higher than actual exchange value, they charge you too it's just hidden. Seems like it's usually about 3% above market exchange rate on my PayPal purchases on Etre, compared to 2% on debit card, or 0% on Chase Sapphire card, so I for one really appreciate the option to use be card...especially since after rewards points it's really another 1-2% cheaper.

But uh...back to lambic.

I had the Armand & Gaston this weekend, my understanding is that this is the oude gueuze blend but the first bottling from their own wort?

It was very good, just seeing if there was anything distinguishing it from the previous gueuze.

Whoops, sorry, my mistake.

I didn't see the US in the table on the shipping page, so I jumped to conclusions.

A&G was available last week at the De Molen Online Shop (which now really doesn't ship to the US), and as far as I can tell from their facebook posts, it lasted like 3 days.

It was slightly oxidized and was - albeit still delicious - somewhat far from the other 3F.

Edit: 50th was also a bit on the sweeter side (too sweet, imho). This was quite different to van't kasteel which was quite acidic.

Drank a 2015 Doesjel tonight. Damn, that is good. Already has a light carb and nice, bright goozy flavors.

One year in and these are getting nicer by the day. Still a few around, I totally recommend grabbing some. The 2010 special aswell if you see it.

Yeah, I think these came to like $5-6 a bottle after shipping. Seems kind of expensive given how cheap these are in Belgium but still nice to have a few around.
