Any easier to find Lambics stateside you guys would recommend? Here in Rochester, it seems like slim pickings but I'm always up for suggestions. Thanks!

Just snagged yet another cuvee Rene kriek off the shelf yesterday. Probably the best you can hope for these days.

The 20 pack 375 GB actually isn't that bad shipped. Comes out to a little less than $30 a bottle (bought 2011 batch on shelves in NY for $25). I'll admit, I was tempted, simply becuase I love that beer and know it will more than likely not make it to VA. That said, **** that site.

Also, is it known if Trappist World is a subsidiary of another webshop? I ask because back in 2013 when I ordered my first box from BIAB, along with the cool 3F coasters they used to include, I also got a Trappist World branded bottle opener which made me think they must be related somehow. But since then I've seen no further indication they were related.

And now they neglect us with their distro.

Username sort of relevant, I guess, just finally got around to making an account after lurking for a while.
We are slowly making a comeback. Just in the past few months I've seen boon oude gueuze and beersel gueuze hit the shelves for the first time in a long time. Maybe its just a matter of time until we are "back on track". A dude can dream right?

Neither of those are Shelton beers, though. Shelton stuff comes in through Proof now. Boon is Mim's and I can't recall who Oud Beersel is from.

That being said, since coming back to NC, it's gotten a bit better but I think they are still salty about everything that went down when they first left the state.

Same for me. 3F, Cantillon, other coasters and one or two of those little bottle openers with trappistworld.com on it.

This may have already been discussed but when do you think is best to drink fou foune? I want to gift one to a friend and have a '15 and a '14. I'd imagine fresh is best but I do recall drinking a '05 a few years back and has held memory as my favorite beer, granted it was also the first time I had fou foune.

It varies based on the batch, but in general I like fresher better, though it doesn't matter much for a few years. IIRC 2014 was considered a weaker year, though I might be mixing things up. I'm surprised '05 was so high for you, it was all acid when I tried it.

I remember '13 being considered the "weaker" year (the bottles I had were fine). Both '14 and '15 were fantastic.

14 and 15 are both good. I prefer it with a year or two. Had a 15 recently and it was good but too fruit forward for my taste. I prefer 14 right now but I'm sure other people will disagree.

I opened an 05 fou last summer and drank about 3 sips of it....and I like acid.

Dang, I remember loving it, however this was in 2010 and my palate has changed a lot since then. That doesn't surprise me though, at sour fest I'd seek out the lowest ph beers I could find, now I can't do too much acid.

I was like 50-50 whether it was '13 or '14 that was considered the weaker batch, just couldn't remember. Thanks for correcting me.
