why don't we contact tilquin, Boon, hanssens, Girardin, De Cam, Cantillon and drie fonteinen, etc asking for Talk beer special blends 1 fruited 1 geuze, 1 unblended. We would also need to work with the importer of said brewery if any agreed then take orders, when the come in those that live closest to the importer could deal with picking up and shipping for the rest of the people who ordered. This may also have to go through a store to be totally legal. but if it ended up being a shelton brewer or blender I think I know of a store with a close enough relationship and a friend who works there to make that feasible. other importers would possibly work with them also but both shelton and this store are located in Central/Western MA

Gene can we get a blessing on this? I will start emailing brewers if its kosher.

I love the idea, but I think there might be better ways to kick it off than just emailing brewers.

As cool as this would be, I just don't see it happening. With the exception of maybe Boon, everyone else is struggling to keep up with their own production demands. Hanssens and Girardin are non-starters, as they rarely take in visitors on site, let alone do special projects. Girardin has done two, both for local groups. Hanssens did some a long, long time ago. Look at how few special releases have come out for specific groups in the past years despite what I'm sure have been many, many requests. The vibe we got from a lot of brewers/blenders in terms of production is that they're at a good point and can't be bothered to take on new tasks despite being asked all the time. Add to that the fact that most of them probably have no idea (and don't care) about TB and I just don't see it going far. Even if the initial base lambic(s) were available, I couldn't imagine the logistics of getting a geuze blended, housed, then distributed through official channels.

Gene is right though and there are better ways of pursuing this than just emailing them and asking for a special blend. You likely won't get a response. Randomly emailing and asking for things likely won't play well and would reflect poorly in a number of ways on lambic enthusiasts in the U.S.

I personally think Boon is underrated and would be psyched if we had a mariage parfait style special blend and special fruited blend for TBers.

Maybe they could use this as a kickstarter style campaign where they charge us now for the lambic we will receive 3 years from now and just use the money to lease more space and buy more barrels

I think you are seriously under estimating how much gueuze Boon* makes and seriously over estimating the amount of money they would generate from doing a special blend for Talk Beer. The economics do not work here.

* Replace with any lambic producer. Still doesn't work.

Well I've decided to get into lambic production seeing as it's the hot new thing on the street, so I bought a lambic kit.

Should be done in about a week, I'll probably split the batch and throw ancho pasille chillis in one, and madagascar vanilla beans on the other.

Can't wait to start trading my own lambics! I'll PM you with my info SeaWatchman so you can add me to your wiki.

Also I think they made a typo on this lambic vial LOL. WTF is a lambicus? hahaha!

That vial is over 8 months old dude, what are you doing? No true American lambic producer would use that. PM me for tips on making true South Floridian lambic.
