I thought t^2 did to regular tilquin what golden blend did to OG. The nose is incredible.

Damn, now I'm going to have to seek out and buy some T^2. I was trying to convince myself I didn't need it.

In other lambic news, this haul landed today:

3 DeCam Oude Kriek
2 DeCam Framboise Lambiek
Vigneronne
5 Cantillon Bio Geuze

I started to be jealous of that Vigneronne before I remembered it's the least good of those four beers. ;)

Extra-strong, I think. I forget the story.
Something along the lines of not happy with how a batch came out, so they threw it back in barrels, aged it another year, and then mixed it with two more batches. Bam! Tilquin Squared.
They said the problem was the bottles were over carbonated so they put back in barrels for a while instead of releasing.

Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l'Ancienne (Gueuze)² is the product of a batch of regular Oude Gueuze Tilquin à l'Ancienne that overcarbonated in the bottle. As a result of this overcarbonation, the bottles were emptied into an oak barrel again for another period of maturation. The result was subsequently bottled a second time as Oude Gueuze Tilquin à L'Ancienne (Gueuze)². Both 37,5cl and 75cl bottles were bottled in January 2014.

I'm going to buy the rest of this tomorrow, damn. April 2013 Cuvee Rene. Tip 'o' the cap to huckyourmeat

It's because the importer thinks the general consumer will confuse it with the highly popular sweetened kriek that we don't get it here.

It is fun watching people be "serious" into their lambic game on social media, with photos of the sweetened versions. Talking it up like they know their lambics.

Lambicstompers (not looking up the spelling) is seriously delicious. Why isn't all Boon gueuze that good? *******.

Really happy to hear this. I bought a decent amount in hopes of sitting on a few bottles over the years

had a 12-13 this past weekend, and while drunk because #bourboneuchre it was phenomenal.
