Yes, last week, and strangely it has more fruit than the '13. My favorite year of the recent releases.Anyone have a 2012 Fou Foune recently? How's it doing?

Someone on another forum that I'm part of that is not beer-related at all has a beer related thread. Someone from San Diego just posted a picture of some Cantillon gueuze with the lambic bio labels for Belgium and said he picked them up at his local beer store. I mentioned that there are rumors that some stores are ordering from Belgium sites and selling them at a huge markup illegally. He said that was the case for the store he bought them from as well.![]()
The drie & loon lines at the festival this weekend have me thinking this kind of business won't stop for some time. Especially given the incredible, incredible beer being completely ignored all around the room as a result of 90% of attendees being busy standing in those lines.Blackwell's is one of the worst for this, the only reason I stay on their mailing list is for their hilarious Cantillon prices

also sells GCB for $75 and green label 3F OG for $20/375ml. Would be nice if people would stop buying this stuff so they would lose incentive to do it.
It'll stop really quickly if a few people get thrown into jail/pay out the ass in fines for illegal importations. Edit: '01 3FOG was amazing though, don't get me wrong. Also, full disclosure, nobody was in line for Fou, everyone was in line to meet Akbar.

As someone who's purchased from BIAB and etre, and plan to do so in the future, I'm concerned that cracking down on stores for illegal importation is going to lead to cracking down on consumers for illegal importation. I mean, I'm not sure exactly what laws I'm violating by getting these things shipped in, but I'm sure it's not entirely above-board. I can easily imagine these stores, facing enough pressure, saying, "screw it, it's not worth the trouble to ship to the US".
And if that happens, I'm blaming it all on Stupac2.
You shut your mouth.I wouldn't be devastated if places like BiaB and Etre stopped shipping to the US.

I know for a fact that shelton occasionally distributes bottles with the bio labels. Im not saying that was the case for your guy but we see them here pretty often. Lots of different stores. Decent price.
I actually sent you some a few years back....
Oh I know you did, but I specifically asked the guy if there were Shelton labels on it and he said no. I've gotta check to see if there are any on the ones you sent me. And honestly, they're part of the problem too. That said... m0ar?![]()
Doubt it anytime soon. I have a box or two to send out and then all my drinking $ will be heading for a rendezvous with the
Gouvernement Fraiçais. No beer there... Yet.
Doubt it. Reselling things matters a lot with these laws. Plus it's not like the Belgian websites are doing anything illegal, and I doubt the US would make an international fuss with Belgium about direct-to-consumer beer shipments. It's the stores using these websites as a way around the importers that are doing something that could actually get them into trouble, though it really doesn't seem like anyone cares. Still, if you see bio labels and think they're bad, report it to Shelton and to the TTB.As someone who's purchased from BIAB and etre, and plan to do so in the future, I'm concerned that cracking down on stores for illegal importation is going to lead to cracking down on consumers for illegal importation. Yeah seriously, why is no one reporting this kind of thing? There was a TB member here who was getting bottles in Canada and sending them directly to a store in California for a huge markup. He was promptly shut out of a lot of places when they found out what was going on. Stores shouldn't be able to do this, and folks like Kurt should know if they are unwittingly being pulled into something like that.

Just saw a 2012 De Cam Lambeik 750 in a local Liqour store for $40.99. Seems pricey.

It's like a sour porter/stout. I like it. Very drinkable. The roasty/sour combo is maybe not for everyone. So who has tried Drie Fonteinen Zwet.Be? A friend of mine just texted me and was like "dude you've gotta try drie fonts Porter." I'm like "they make a porter....?"

I've seen 375 Bio labels being sold for $40 (also has 750s for $75). Granted this was a bar/to-go bottle shop, so I'm sure some of the markup was due to the fact that you could buy and open bottle on premise. But damn!Someone on another forum that I'm part of that is not beer-related at all has a beer related thread. I'd pay $22 for Iris at a bar all day long. Typically when it hits shelves (or back rooms) around here its ~$22 retail.I paid $22 for a 750ml Iris over the bar once. It may or may not have been a mistake... but I'll take it.
