Anyone had bierpallieters lately? Is it good/worth it or just kind of a cool bottle?

I was very lucky to get to try that one about a dozen times in the last 8 months or so, most were drank at the Bierpallieter week-end and at Grote Dorst. All were, at least, very good and half of them were mindblowing. There was a lot of bottle variation though ... the less good were darker in color, less carbonated and a tad heavy for a gueuze. The best were much lighter in color, well carbonated with an amazing depth and had developped a great minty touch like the old 3 Fonteinen. The best bottles of Bierpallieter I had were among the best gueuzes I ever had.

Where can you get 750s of Cuvée Rene for $10 tho? They're $13 here.
They usually go for $9.99 at most bottle shops in NJ, with 375s usually around $6.99.

Also speaking of Boon...this is drinking really nicely right now

How well does Cuvée Rene age? If I see that for the prices y'all are talking about I'm definitely buying several, and wondering if it's worth collaring or just drinking casually.

It's usually my go-to casual drinker, but I like it with some years on it too. At its price point, you can buy enough to drink regularly and lay a few down without hurting the wallet.

Best $10 750 of gueuze money can buy.
Going to have to disagree there. Girardin Black Label. My favorite non-3F/Cantillon gueuze when you're on a budget. Though I guess it may be a little over $10...
Lambikstoempers back up on Etre.
damnit. I wish I'd seen that when I placed an order this morning.

Definitely a lot better stuff above $10, but if all you got is 10 American it's tits.

Girardin Black Label is $11.99/375ml here.

Agreed. I think I like regular Tilquin better but the crazy amount of oak in the squared is pretty intriguing.

i thought the body felt a bit thin but DAT OAK had me LIKE WHOA

i was not sure what to expect but glad i got some to age. this could be a fun one in 5 & 10 years.

I might be the only person that isn't feeling this right now.

Not the only one. I took a bottle to a tasting with 5 others and 3 out of 6 of us poured theirs out. I enjoyed it, but drinking a whole bottle by myself would seem like a chore. I'm interested to see what happens to this beer with some time on it. It's already a funk and oak bomb, and I've never experienced anything like that with something this young.

poured it out? yikes.... it is an oak bomb with a young gueuze behind it. kind of weird. reminds me a lot of golden gueuze minus the complexity. i see this developing into something interesting though. overall, nice to see something new in the gueuze game.
