A coworker was going to Brussels, so I told him to goto Cantillon if he had time (and warned him that it wouldn't taste like beer he's used to). He did some beer tasting/tour in the city one night and wasn't planning on going... until he lost his passport and had some time to kill. His thoughts:
To be fair, Westmalle Tripel is a mighty fine tripel.

I like how he almost got the message into iambic pentameter too.

Turning 29 soon, but if I shave my beard and cut my hair I'll end up looking like one of the kids I teach.
This gives me an idea....
29...I don't remember what that was like....

Any lambic bottled on 10/12/13? That's my wedding anniversary. I have a fair amount of stuff from October 2013, but couldn't find anything with that particular bottle date.

Looking through the lists, of course the only birthday gueuze is LPG '04. Not sure if I want to chase it down or not. Maybe 3F from 2 days later is close enough...

This years Cuvee Saint Gilloise was bottled on my bday (Feb 17), and so was the US label Golden Blend. I need to track down more CSG for the novelty. Got a decade's worth of Golden Blend already haha

None that I have, but do have 10/17/13 3F OG.

It's probably too early for anyone to have received shipments from Belgian orders yet, but on the off chance, has anyone been able to try the Tilquin Gueuze^2 yet? And if so any thoughts on how this compares to the regular Tilquin gueuze? I'm curious as to whether the higher abv on this one makes it particularly worth stocking up on to cellar, but also just whether it's a special/particularly good batch in general.

Could've helped you out if it were LPK '04. What's your birthday?

I have a serious problem with 3 Fonteinen corks shooting out. It's come to the point where no matter what conditions the bottle was stored in, I have my hand on the cork before I undo the cage. And I open them outside. I'm tired of bottles making love explosion on my countertops.

Golden Blends are especially volatile. Out of the 3 or 4 I've opened.

Here is the one that didn't get away

Might order and extra 6.....

Was hoping biab would have the volume 3f deal pop back up. I kept waiting in it and now I regret it.

Oh well, I'll probably snag up the tilquin volume pack
