Last year I was unable to go to Zwanze, so I had my own "zwanze" at home and popped open some Fou Foune, Vigneronne, and other stuff. I remember the 2012 Vigneronne being very funky, acidic, and a hint of sweetness. Easily my favorite Cantillon more than Fou Foune or St. Lamvinus.

Recently opened a 2013 Vigneronne with a friend during a tasting, and it was a lot sweeter than the first time I had it. That being said, it was still a very balanced beer. With 2 completely different experiences with 2 different years, what does Vigneronne normally taste like fresh & aged? I'd assume fresher it tastes like my most recent experience, sweet but balanced?

My experience with Vignerrone is that when it is young, it is sweet, mellow and almost wine like with the white grapes. It is almost a perfect beer for a sunny afternoon.

With a little aged, the lambic starts to do its thing and it becomes more acidic. I've never gotten much funk but I don't think I've had a bottle older than 1 year.

Vignerrone or LP Framboise are my favorite loons by far. Although classic geueze with 4+ years on it is also amazing.

Crazy Birthday '10 was pretty awesome. Wish I had scooped up a BrauArt if it's similar in peat levels but there's always more lambic...

I wish I had h.Ertie beers.

I drank a 2012 St lam on the weekend. **** me it was good. I hadn't had it for a few years (maybe since 2011?) and I forgot how good it is. It's like grown up RdG. RdG brings the raspberry candy while St Lam brings the adult grapes.

Damn, I have three '12 St. Lams that I told myself I would cellar for a while but you're tempting me to open one.

I just got a bottle of Oud Beersel Oud Kriekske (kriek liquor) from BIAB and am rocking that tonight. It drinks pretty much like a cheap port. Very little cherry flavor that could nearly be confused for grape. Some heat. No funk, cheese or sourness. Had to tick it but unimpressed. Still better than Armand'Spirit though... On a related note, Oud Beersel started distributing to Colorado last week, and their gueuze (375s) has diacetyl issues which should go away in about a year. Oud Beersel Kriek (750s shipped from Belgium) is pretty much my daily drinker lambic at this point though and is delicious.

Anybody opened a 750 ml of the 2012/2013 questsche recently? I've got one left that I'm debating whether to open soon or sit on for a while longer.

Seems surprising there is diacetyl.

I agree on the kriek. It's always on shelves here and always a solid option.

Update re: Etre - my checkout wasn't working on mobile, two computers, or four browsers, so I decided to check out their website. Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing with computers, but when I inspected the page I saw that there was a link that wasn't where the order button is (see pic). I managed to place the order by copying/pasting that link into another window. Hope that helps if the site acts up for anyone else.

I -intihared one Thursday night and thoroughly enjoyed. Not as sour as some reg Tilquin gueuze bottles I've had, but definitely gaining some funky characteristics to pair with a nice tartness. Well-carbonated and looking forward to seeing how the two I have left end up. Cheers

opened up a 2011 or older Hanssens Oude Kriek last night and was very pleased with it.

deep deep red to almost light purple, starting to get a little bit of a muddy look to it. little to no carbonation as usual. A bit of Cherries on the nose, a good bit of funk and definite sour notes. This one is sour, funky , minerally and overall an excellent kriek.

I will definitely being buying a few more of these to age. Not sure on the exact age as hanssens only started dating the bottles in late 2012. It could have been an early 2012 I just don't know when I bought it

I've got a unopened case of 2010 Hanssen Kriek 750ml bottles that I've been meaning to dig out and try. Maybe I'll so that this week. Their kriek had always been love/hate with me. It seems to quickly get to a point where it's unbearably sour.
