Popped a 2011/12 Tilquin OG 375ml last night and it was doing great. Lots of juicy stonefruit and cheesy funk. Just reminded me I should go buy up all the 375s sitting on shelves here for ages.

I'm at a mom and pop liquor store that is on the verge of shutting down. Not much beer on the shelf, but i am thrilled that I see a bottle of de cam kriek on the shelf for $30. Instead of the usual cork and cage, the bottle is topped with a sprayer (like one would find on a bottle of Windex, say).

Had a 19 December 2016 RdG on New Year's Eve. Holy crap it was good.

No sign of diminishing fruit but has developed really good depth of funk which I find is lacking in the fresher examples. Acidity was light which also surprised me a bit as I have heard age can make RdG enamel stripping. Really well balanced beer. I love fresh RdG but I found the 2 years on this bottle a much more satisfying experience.

I also have a January and June 16 in the cellar so going to let these ones go for a bit longer.

I don't have lambic dreams all the time, but it's sort of sad that I occasionally do. De Cam kriek might be worth it, though...

First lambic of 2019 goes to Lindemans Cuvée René Special Blend. This gueuze was bottled in the summer of 2014 and blended with 4 year old lambic along with some young lambic for refermentation in the bottle. It was released in 2015 to commemorate the opening of the new Lindemans facility in April of that year. This Gueuze continues to be a heavy hitter just like it was right out of the gate. Lots of carbonation under the cork and a nice pillowy head on the pour that sticks around throughout the glass. Nose is bright and citrus forward with a lot of rind. This is developing really well. When it first came it still tasted quite young, but four and a half years on, the old lambic is really starting to give it a nice leathery complexity that gives way to a nice light, bright lemony citrus note with some oaky undertones. All in all, this blend seems like it will have the same type of longevity that the De Heeren 20th anniversary blend has as they seem quite similar at this point.

The de Lambiek visitors center is actually a really cool place. As is MS if you’ve never been there. To me, TdG is about seeing the places that aren’t typically open or easily accessible to the public.

The whole reason I was asking is that I have a full box and was trying to decide between having it delivered to my residential address vs my work address, the latter of which would be safer from a "package doesn't get stolen" perspective, but less safe from a job-security perspective since my company has semi-outdated perspectives on alcohol.

I suppose I'll just cross my fingers that tracking information arrives in time for me to arrange to work from home for the day, to actually be around to receive the package.

You usually have to sign for these boxes so they cannot just leave them on your porch. That could help you out in this case. Less than 10% of my international boxes have been left without the need to sign for them.

I've never signed for an Etre box but I live in the ******* sticks so maybe they just don't give a ****.
