Where is this magical land where people find 3F OG on the shelf?
Bay Area (CA version). 15 750ml 3F Oude Gueuze in stock at the store a couple miles away for $27/ea. Only a couple of A&G left at $35. Seems to come in on the regular.

Golden blend and Framboos disappeared right quick, but for classic gueuze it's great.

I dont even know who I am anymore. Id rather drink a 3f or cantillon kriek than hommage, framboos, fou, lamvinous or vig. For the better part of the last decade I had some serious hate for kriek regardless who made it.

I'm with you with the exception of Lam. Geuze/Kriek for the win...

I have a lot of love for Oud Beersel Kriek. Shame it's so expensive but that's a beer. The full kriek experience includes tons of nutty pit flavor, almost like an almond. Not something I'd drink often but a good one, is so good.

Are 3F still selling the OGVH and A&GV? Flying to Luxembourg tomorrow and wondering whether to make the drive up.
To answer my own question... yes

Wow dude. No limit on them?
2pp on both. I went with my SO. The other magnum is a 2018 A&G, and the two big boxes are the ‘Autumn Selection’ of 12 75s. We did a tour and drank the new OGHV Nightlights.., I’ll post up some pictures in a tl;dr post in a bit.

They've been selling them for 2 weeks now, must have bottled a ton of them!

This release is a bit perplexing to me. 3F has just switched to the format with extra bottles then they dropped these 2 on their own. As a result, MBC, lambicworld, and the rest of the shitlord resellers have been making bank. It would be wonderful if people would stop paying such crazy prices for lambic and get these ******* resellers out of the game.

Other notes from 3F yesterday:
- Perzik was bottled Friday. There were separate tanks of white and yellow peach lambic which are available over the bar by the glass until they’re gone. I should have asked if this means the finished beer will be a blend of the two or there will be both Perzik Gelb and a Perzik Witte. The uncarbonated white peach lambic was glorious, and I can’t wait to try it with some condition.

- it really is crazy how many Speling van het Lots are available/in the works at the moment; literally dozens of small barrels and blends in the back. Cognac barrels, vin jaune, blueberries, etc. There were at least 10 available by the bottle at the droom.
- a few strawberry blends were bottled this week (I saw aardbei kriek and aardbei framboos) - the strawberry twist of fate from last year was apparently very successful.
- More Scharbeekse is coming, but this will spend a year in tank...

- Hommage has been bottled in 37.5s and 75s this time. Also the blend is changing to 75-25 raspberry to cherry from this bottling.

- there is a metric tonne of Zenne around. b1 was 2 barrels I think, b2 was 6 from memory... here’s the current stash of 30+ sherry barrels. The third batch was bottled recently...

- Lots of druiven blends in the works at the moment.

- Finally honing has turned from the untameable beast of 2016 that threw clouds of head over the lambik-o-droom into a funky, rich deep amber beauty

2003 De Cam Oude Lambiek - this bottle comes from an American import done by Vanberg & DeWulf that was always cited as being from a batch of 2003 bottles. Purchased circa 2011-2012. Cork pops off with a puff of vapor and pours with a tiny amount of carbonation. Out of the gate, this is one of the best bottles of De Cam I’ve ever had. Nose is leathery and full of damp earth and wood notes. The acidity here is absolutely perfect with a bright sharp citrus note that gives way to leathery undertones, sourdough bread, and a tannic mineral finish. Absolutely fantastic bottle and another reason why I never pull straight lambic bottles from the cellar until they’ve got at least 5 years in the bottle.

Vat 44 bottled 4/19/2013 at 8.5%. Pours with light carb and musty hay on the nose, followed by pears and a deep mineral funk. Finishes with mellowed oak and subdued citrus.

Time continues to do this bottle well. Young it had sharp acidity along with plenty of lemon/citrus notes. Excited to see how a personal favorite continues to develop. Cheers!

So I was reorganizing my beer collection today and impulsively decided to put some 375s in the fridge. I then almost immediately began to drink my way through all of them. Yes, I have a problem. But also, this was a lot of fun! I didn’t keep too much detail on each beer and am going from memory, which is now impaired, but this made for a fun evening after an unpleasant day at work.

Started off with an old faithful. 2015 bottling that was tasting great yet not as good as it’s 2016 counterpart. A higher level of perceived graininess accompanied the classic Tilquin funk, which deterred it from the god-tier aforementioned ‘16 vintages I’ve had recently.

Still waiting to have a good bottle of this. I’ve had it 3 times now and I’m 0/3 On enjoyable experiences. Endol and plastic phenols overcome what would be a very nice beer, I’m hoping the 750s are sitting differently, will report back when I open one next week.

IZynIRG.jpg

Poured flat, but quite tasty and not overly acidic. Wasn’t as complex as I would hope for an almost 3-year old lambic but I’m glad I have a few more to try again down the line.

17/18 batch still drinking well (beautifully, even) right out of the gate. Low carb but nice fruitiness complementing the funky base.

Old faithful. I picked up 2 cases of these and will probably revisit once every 3 months or so to see how it develops. After drinking 4 Tilquin beers, it was refreshing to drink this and see how familiar it’s profile was. Very good.

Assemblage no. 21. I didn’t really enjoy this. It had this weird character that made it feel much older than it was, not dissimilar in taste and aroma to the last time I had Zomer, which doesn’t really make sense. Sweeter, maltier, and more out of balance than the Season, and the sum of the parts didn’t add up to what I hoped. I last drank this 6 months ago and thought it was a much better beer at that time.

NTCb0xj.jpg

This was only a small notch above No. 21. I didn’t mind the still pour but the beer just doesn’t come together. Malty, some acid, and then a muddled finish. I have one more bottle of this that I might just forget about and revisit in 3+ years.

QXvO3Aa.jpg

This beer has been and continues to be a treat. This one’s carbonated and has a beautiful flavor of ripe cherries, pits, baking spices, some cinnamon and vanilla, maybe nutmeg. I’m halfway through the glass and savoring. Really delicious beer, might be one of my favorites of the evening!

Here’s the kill shot for the solo mission. A noble endeavor that had to be done once I was in a few bottles. Next time I’ll have to take more detailed notes so that I’m not trying to comment on each bottle from memory after drinking 3 liters of lambic in one sitting. Cheers gang.
