For those of you who don't remember, I got a ton of stuff FREE from a member who was getting out of the hobby. As part of that haul was about 10 kegs in different states of disrepair. But, along with those came a ton of Orings and keg lids and all the stuff to make them seal or at least try. So, why am I telling you all this? Good question. The other day I was bored and had a decent buzz going so I decided to pull 5 or 6 of the kegs I tried to rebuild and pressure test them. Arme with my two new spunding valves I filled each one to at least 10 psi and let them sit overnight. Well, to my suprise and joy, 4 of them held pressure and remained at over 10 psi for over 24 hours. One had a very slow leak in it and one was not sealed very well at all. What does that mean? Well, I now have 6 kegs that should be ready to go and will fit nicely into my 2 tap, but will hold 4 keg, kegerator. So, with that said, my lagers will be able to sit at cooler serving temps while I wait for one of the two in use to kick and I can have at least 2 at the ready to keep the supply line going. My wife is not happy, but she is encouraging the hobby in the hopes that when I retire and we move I will hook up with some like minded folks to help me drink my beer instead of just me doing it. LOL. Anyway, this is something I wasn't really expecting but it was nice to see the Orings and all did their job.
