Anyone ever get a clear bottle from De Cam? It looks like everything else is the same between these two bottles with the exception of the glass. These are both 750's not 375's despite what the labels say.

I've always said that Hanssens is the Fantome of the lambic world, but De Cam is really starting to pull ahead there. Dafuq....

To make things even weirder, the clear glass bottle was purchased from biab. I also ordered a 375 at the same time and it was delivered corked but without a cage. I was amazed the thing didn't leak all over.

albino goozie, occurs in ~1 in every 100,000 bottles.

When my jet-lagged self woke up at 4AM and was struggling to get back to sleep, a random-ass thought occurred to me: would it make sense to start a lambic-focused wiki (or wiki-like thing)? There are clearly a lot of people out there who know a lot about these beers, but there's no place where they can put that information down so that it's easily locatable for future reference. The various beer databases could kinda-sorta work, but you'd want something that's generally editable so it can keep changing as new stuff comes up, and I can see wiki sections being useful (plus there are things like glassware, events, etc that wouldn't be in there at all).

Anyway, no idea if this really makes sense, but it could be neat.

One is well underway. Forgetfu and I (and a couple others) have been working on one and hoping to go live this fall.

Why just lambic? I've wondered why there isn't a beer wiki for awhile. Also, I think I'd only trust this if there's a ton of citations. That pic doesn't have many. I remember reading a lot of that info before, though. Shelton Bros website I think?

I can help edit too!

If you're looking for more editors I'd love to get in on it.

At this point, we're good on editors. More information later and this will continue to evolve over time. Stand by for now, we'll have it public as soon as possible.

If you're looking for more #forscience moderators, I'd love to get in on it.
Well, I guess this at least clarifies why i was drinking B12 Energy lambic. ;-) I am still looking for more #forscience beers if people want to help find some.

Shelton is actually cited in the screenshot (and was discussed by SeaWatchman recently in this thread which is how more people are aware of it). All sources are being cited. This isn't intended to replace all of the information out there but to instead provide access to it. We're on the same page. The people working on this are all obsessed lambic geeks

Recently acquired a bottle of 2007 3F Tuverbol. Not too much information on it on the web. I am opening it this Sunday. Anyone have any additional information on it?

since you don't need editors i will offer my services at spreading misinformation and espousing irreverent tomfoolery.

Can't wait for the wiki edit wars....

So, not actually a wiki. Got it.

There is a long way to go before we get to this stage. It's wiki-based, yes, and we have a few people working on it right now, but we need to be able to communicate quickly and be able to track changes so we're not doubling back over things. This will very much be a community effort when it goes live, and everyone will be encouraged to submit information regardless of who is able to edit the site. We want this to be a resource for people to look, learn, and research further.
