I beleive That like the universe Tilquin is in a constant state of expansion. They posted a little while ago about 60-100 new barrels that they got. I would assume that as long as space is available they will continue to fill that space with more barrels. However like Cantillon expect a 3 year wait period for anything to come out of those barrels to be in bottles.I wonder if the Cantillon expansion could mean more Tilquin.
Agree with everything you said except:I beleive That like the universe Tilquin is in a constant state of expansion. They posted a little while ago about 60-100 new barrels that they got. Side note I had a 2012-2013 questche yesterday and it was fanfreakintastic. I hope as they expand Pierre does not limit himself to just Gueuze and Quetsche. I bet he could give Jean a run for his money when it comes to fruited lambics. I would love to see a kriek and framboise in the regular line up from tilquin
where do bilberries fit in there?Agree with everything you said except:
Apricots>cherries>razzleberries. Hit the baby Fou' first!
Since bilberries undoubtedly taste like plastic, I chose to omit them.Rowingbrewer post: 351029 said:where do bilberries fit in there?
I have had foufoune out of the bottle and on tap, and it is great but I doubt Pierre is gonna go and make an apricot lambic out of respect for Jean. I think he wants to make his own mark on the lambic scene which is why he went with plums for his first fruited lambic. cherries and raspberrries be fair game
only had Blabaer once and I was not a fan, it was actually the worst cantillon I have ever had. It was a 750 from 2011 i think, and it definitely had some plastic or maybe band-aid flavorSince bilberries undoubtedly taste like plastic, I chose to omit them.
This is total speculation but did the thermostat incident totally screw the chance at an 09 OGV? Also maybe he put OGV off for a bit while trying to recover financially from the mess and sold more upfront.Does anyone know what the deal with OGV is? Has Armand just given up on it? It seems like some should've been released since the 2008 vintage.
This is a great idea and I fully support it with whatever I can add.

That was my guess, but I figured I would've heard of it before if that were true. So we could potentially see an OGV '10/11 in a year or two? I really like that beer and want him to keep making it.This. OGV has always been made with Armand's own lambic, and 2008 would have been the last time that could have happened before the thermostat issue. He could have maybe done some 2009 stuff, but what remained of his lambic was mostly thrown into doing the Armand'4 bottlings.

From Thursday 4 September till Monday 8 September there will be open beer days at the 3 Fonteinen Brewery.
These special days start at 10 a.m and run till 5 p.m, during the day we will be giving free guided tours in Dutch, French, English and German. There will also be bottles of Vintage Geuze for sale in the brewery shop.
There was an announcement about 3F's open beer day on their FB page earlier today, and said something about having vintage geuze available at their shop. So hopefully that entails new batches of OGV, but if not- vintage 3F OG is still boss.Does anyone know what the deal with OGV is? Has Armand just given up on it? It seems like some should've been released since the 2008 vintage.
I know. I think part of the reason I like it is just that they're typically older than the 3F OG you find around. People seem to save them and they seem more readily available than comparably old OG. Maybe I'm just bad at trading for it, I dunno. I guess if they start releasing it again I'll be able to compare more easily since I actually have OG back to 2010.There's absolutely nothing different from OG vs. OGV apart from the fact that Armand liked it better or it needed more time in the bottle for whatever reason.
Your first mistake was assuming I take the time to read every post in a thread.Perhaps you missed the next couple posts down from that.![]()

Yep, same here. I was super disappoint about a year and a half ago when I traded an OGV '02 for Blabaer '12 (yeah, I know), but I really wanted Blabaer. My wife kicks me in the junk every day because I ask her to because of that trade. What a ******* motard. And I only bought two '02s when I could have had 10+....double motard.only had Blabaer once and I was not a fan, it was actually the worst cantillon I have ever had. Edit:
the cantillon I have had
Classic, kriek, rose, FF, ST Lamvinus, Vig, LPK, LPF, LPG, Iris, BGC, CDC, blabaer, Brabtiae, 50N b1 and b2, crianza, 2 year lambic, mamouche, zwanze 10-12.
I want to live in Australia.
Drop bears.
I'm more scared of vegemite to be honest.
Went into one of my locals last night and they had about half a dozen Golden Blends on the shelves, where none were previously (they sold out ages ago). Asked the owner and he said the distro is having a clear-out and they are now the same price as OG - and there was more out the back.
I had to stop myself from clearing their stock as it's one of my favourites. I have 8 bottles now though. If there is some left next time I visit, I'm taking them all.
Around here everything but Cantillon lasts several days, and everything else besides 3F will last weeks/months. Either that or I constantly get lucky seeing it around, hard to tell.So I ask this in seriousness. Is there really such thing as "shelf lambic/gueuze" anymore? While TX does not see any Cantillon or 3 Fonteinen, if I saw even 3F on the shelves, I'd buy it instantly as long as the price wasn't outrageous.
Does 3F, Tilquin, or other stuff just sit on a shelf, or are they snatched up fairly quickly when they hit shelves?
