I got a whole bunch of emails too. Separate invoices, order numbers, etc. even got one that said it's on backorder. Only got charged once via PayPal though so I'm assuming that means it's okI got 2 different receipts from Cantillon, but only one transaction is showing on PayPal. What's the web address? I'm gonna buy a pack real quick.
I actually did end up ordering one right around that time after finding out they were that date and confirmed it with Kurt but when they showed up they were all 11/28 bottlings.
And the 11/28 is my birthday bottling. Still need to crack one of them!Nothing other than my birthday, really.

Finally got around to opening a bottle of Tros Bessen.
Opened with a nice little pop. While looking practically still in the bottle, a soft carb steadily built during the pour. A 3/4 cm head built as it approached the top of the glass.
Taste was quite present. A little sweet red fruit hit first, very much familiar to anyone who has enjoyed Schramms Red Agnes. The sweetness quickly gave way to puckering acidity, which was likely enhanced by the currants, as it was far more sour than what I've usually observed in de Cam lambic. A surprising carbonation bite hit next, with a subtle bitterness from the red currant to follow, not unlike what can be tasted in the Green Walnut Oude Beersel blends. Not bracing by any means, but definitely observeable.
Still lacking some of depth of funk id hope for with a De Cam beer, this was very much a pleasant experience and one that could be stellar in another year or two.

I'll take a year or two of ageSo is the consensus that Fou is best enjoyed fresh?
It's far from my favorite Cantillon but in my opinion yes. I had a 2006 and 2009 a few years ago and they were insanely sour.So is the consensus that Fou is best enjoyed fresh?
This years is pretty delicious right now. A+ ****.So is the consensus that Fou is best enjoyed fresh?

Depends on the vintage. 2014 aged nicely for a couple years, but 15 and 16 don't seem like they are going to age very well. Generally 0-24 months is a safe bet imhoSo is the consensus that Fou is best enjoyed fresh?
If you've got any 15 you don't like anymore, I'll fight nathan for themDepends on the vintage. 2014 aged nicely for a couple years, but 15 and 16 don't seem like they are going to age very well. Generally 0-24 months is a safe bet imho
