Yeah I've had both the recent batches of this beer at the brewery (at least I think they were two different batches) and neither is as good as any batch of St Lam, IMO. This kind of experience makes me glad I haven't spent much time or $ trying to track down super whales. Tickers gonna tick I guess.
Spot on dude. Aunis is good, but I like Lam better. I'm laughing at these crazy trades for it

Now had it been Zelige and people were going to wait a year to drink it!
I like d'aunis, but st lam is pretty perfect and attainable; but two super surprises, as I said, were how amazing the recent batches of gcb and csg are.

St-Lamvinus is a treat. If one of the Cantillon seasonals was not to be produced anymore, it would be the one I would miss the most. I was really hoping they would have it aside the other dark grapes lambics for comparison's sake. The only bottle of Lamvinus 2015 I was able to find (in Paris) broke in my car...:(
And I have to say I didn't like the St-Gilloise at all (I usually love it). I found a taste of not completely fermented cheesy wort
Bruoscella was great, even more considering that I'm not a huge fan of this usually.
And Gambrinus was just perfect (the most underrated Cantillon, in my opinion, if the concept of "underrated Cantillon" even makes sense !)

And CSG is my 3rdish favorite Loon of all time, so yeah gonna have to seek that out then! Thanks for the heads up :)

The new GCB was very nice indeed. Probably my least favorite beer of theirs, but this batch was really good

Pineau d'aunis produces very light red wines so there is inherently going to be a significant difference in intensity, extraction, and complexity between d'aunis and st lam. Certainly not surprised to hear that some people prefer the latter. Obviously the psycho trade value is dumb but people need their cantillon Pokemon cards.

Pineau d'aunis is such a great varietal. The Brendan Tracey one was killer.

I can confirm that Jean stopped dry-hopping the Pineau d'Aunis after the second batch (the Zwanze 2011). I know it has been rebrewed at least twice since then (because i've seen the grapes arriving at the brewery). The recent bottling under name "lambic d'Aunis" is the same batch as the previous yellow label that was available for on-site consumption under name "pineau d'Aunis". So, this one too was not dry-hopped.

Pardon my French, if I can say, but please note that the "u" in "Fux" is to be read the same way as Lamvinus or gambrinus, which gives in phonetics [fyks] rather than [fʌks]. Thanks ;)

Like any of these [fʌks] know how to pronounce French words properly. Also, wouldn't it just be [fy]? My first instinct if reading that in French would be that the 'x' is silent unless it's a rebranding of a German surname or something.

You're technically right, but well this was supposed to be a deformation from my initials, FX, so...
Note that it doesn't matter so much!

There's an Oud Beersel Schaerbeekse Kriek in a package deal on BiaB. Anyone know the story on that beer? Haven't heard of it before and it's not on lambic.info. Has a screen printed label in same style as Green Walnut.

I saw a post about this recently on fb. Not sure if it was true but they said less than 2k bottles produced. Pretty sure it was released in the past month or so.

so i dont know if it was bottle variation or what but the blossom gueuze i had over the weekend was awful, tasted like a really cheap lambic mixed with soap.
