Sorry, I probably missed it and it's probably a few pages back, but has anyone had this special edition Cuvee Rene yet/have any sense of when it's arriving stateside? Sounds goooooooooooood

Some sources say it's coming to the U.S. while others specifically say that it's not. Then someone said they saw some at the brewery labeled for American markets. No confirmation one way or the other from Merchant du Vin yet.

I've got a case +1 set aside for me in Belgium just in case it doesn't come. €9/bottle, 15,000 bottles.

Is it in stores in Belgium yet? Wondering when it will show up on the web shops. I'm sure I'll order what I want this way rather than risk looking for it in the U.S.

Have folks sorted out the dividing line between boxes that go through LAX and those that go through JFK or other ports of entry? I've heard that although BiaB will still ship to CO that those boxes seem to go through LAX. Trying to figure out which trade partner to use as a proxy, and keep my in-US shipping costs to a minimum.

My BIAB boxes have always gone through JFK. Will respond again when my bulk 3F box gets here, but I've never had one go through LAX. (I'm in Denver.) Although when I ship out internationally they go to LAX, so who knows.

I had it today and it was delicious, really fruity and fresh tasting. Probably the best thing I had today. Didn't get a chance to ask about distribution, Lindemans was our last stop and we had to get back. Currently only at the brewery afaik.

Tilquin mûre was a bit of a let down by the way, didn't get much blackberry in it. Definitely not bad but I expected much more after their Quetsche (which I love).

What's the deal with this?

How does this year's HORALs compare to previous blends? I only ever got one each of the others and am wondering if it's worth getting multiples to cellar this time.

With new releases like this the role of thumb is to buy a bulk pack first and worry about taste/your credit card statement later.

That would be my approach *if* I weren't expecting to do the same with Tilquin Mure and Cuvee Rene Special Edition this month too.

I wouldn't expect that for Mure. It was a one bottle limit at the brewery and limited to 1,800 75cl bottles and 3,600 37,5cl bottles.

Then I'll expect to order a bottle or two if I can, ha. I guess I was assuming this would be comparable to Tilquin^2 or Rullquin or Quetsche.

We were there with 4 people and I was the only one buying bottles so I could have bought 4 (but didn't). I would think that the people who wanted to buy multiples did so. But you're very right in that if it does go up on a webshop, it will probably be very limited there.

Hard to say as I've never had the previous blends fresh. This one was tasty but had some conflicting tastes, which you could expect from a blend of so many different lambics. Unfortunately I'm not experienced enough with aging Lambic to say something meaningful about the way this will go.

glad I ordered the other Horal's last week... had a feeling people would buy them out when this one hit the site...

IIRC Oudbeitje is, but it's been a while since I've had it.
I just had that the night at Homeroom and it was pretty flat then. Photos on Untappd look mostly flat.

I've enjoyed their fruited sours. Mostly because they are just so damn nasty. I'm just wondering why their gueuze is always carbed, but fruited ones seem usually (but not always) flat.
