Kegerator conversion

I'm planning on converting my old college dorm refrigerator into a kegerator. I have a Sanyo sr4310w, it has a freezer compartment which appears to be the only method of cooling the fridge. I have a plan to cut one side (avoiding the cooling lines) and moving it an inch or so up so that I can fit my kegs. Has anyone ever built a kegerator using this model? Can it be done or am I out of luck?
