1) I don't give a **** about style guides
2) wouldn't a lot, or at least a large %, of the English barleywines from waaaaaaay back have brett in them? historical docs tend to reference a twang in the older aged BWs.

regarding #2, yes 100% brett is not the same as sacc+brett. semantics/schemantics
(but in seriousness, have you ever had a 100% brett C English BW? (by English BW I mean very low AA% hop presence - **** those overhopp'd American versions). they be mighty tasty ;)

Turbid IPAs are easy, barrel programs are hard.

dammit this was one that barely got cut from the blind bwine. this guy is stellar, best organic beer i've ever had :D

this is like MOAS and some, i'm very impressed by this guy. would have stood up well if it was in the blind tasting

lots of dark fruit, fantastic whiskey. prune. this one screams great/moas.

tonight's gonna be a good night, at 14% i'm pretty sure this will be my only beer

I expected this to be a drainpour after 6+ years, but holy ****.

Tons of dark fruit, raisin, black cherry, toffee, maple syrup, just a touch of oak and vanilla Bourbon, and a hint sherry oxidation to make it really interesting. Think like a well-aged Bigfoot and BA Numbskull had a sweet, sticky baby.

I'd take the Pepsi challenge with whatever you got.

Blue Island Brewing Company Barrel Aged Lost Weekend

Bryan Shimkos is the brewer / owner of Blue Island Brewing Company, and was the head brewer of Floosmoor Station when Hi Fi Rye and Barrel Aged Hi Fi Rye were produced. He kept that recipe, brought it to his new joint, and released Lost Weekend last year. After 11 months in the barrel this came out.

It's very good, and really looking forward to a side by side with Barrel Aged Hi Fi Rye tomorrow.

When this isn't infected, it's one of my absolute favorites. Sad I can't find it around me anymore.

I need to look into this next time I'm in Chicagoland.

Drinking this. Feel it's underrated for something that, literally, gathers dust on shelves here in Michigan.

ISO the barrel aged canned version and anything else yet.

stakem

I stopped buying gratitude after they bottled the first barrel aged version. I cannot assist with any new bottlings/cannings but I have every other vintage if there is something specific you want?

Underrated bigly.

I don't know if it's because it's Deschutes, it doesn't have a hypey description or because they released so much of it at once. It came through Costco by cases dirt cheap. If it had sold at Abyss variant numbers it probably would have been more hyped.

What are you guys seeing Olde School for? A Wegmans I do unrelated business with had it @ $14.99 per 4pk. That seems a little more expensive than I remember, maybe $12.99 last time? I kind of want to buy 7 4pks and bury a solid case in my mom's basement next time I go over there... not to be found for 15yrs (since it will be in the pile of other solid and mixed cases of Expo/Bigfoot/Old Stock/Old School).

Thoughts @ $14.99?

Wait, what?

Do you just mean at release or is this somehow still lingering in MI?! If so, please PM me.
