Hey everyone.. I’m about 11 days into fermentation on an Irish blonde extract brew can anyone identify if this is normal during fermentation? Looks to be a little bit of a white film on the surface. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like debris in space...

I see nothing to be alarmed about
Some yeast rafts... I don't see the white film mentioned unless is those streaks running top to bottom but that is likely just hop oils.

Thanks for the input I’m new to brewing this is my second brew. It just looked odd to me I guess .

Can't tell much from the photo but it's probably OK.

It should be about ready to package

I don’t want to disturb too much for a photo but I was just concerned of the light streaks as brewinspector better said. My first batch of caribou slobber turned out great, but I didn’t see the streaking.

A film from wild yeast/bacteria is called a pellicle.

It's highly unlikely a pellicle would form this quickly.
Furthermore pellicles typically only form in the presence of oxygen, so if you've kept it closed and sealed, it's definitely nothing to worry about.

Cheers. Hope it's great!

Thank you for your input, much appreciated. I’ve e kept it sealed for sure. So I guess with everything time will tell.

I'm not seeing anything suspicious, but is that just hella bad lighting or is that "Irish Blonde" really that dark? :drunk:
