casemaking clothes moth larvae. Also case-bearing clothes moth. We get a lot of these down here.

Thanks PP! I saw one about 3 years ago in my shower, and I thought it was the strangest thing I had ever seen. After that I never saw one again until this year. Now all of a sudden I'm finding hundreds of them.

That's what I used to use them for too.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was referring to. Now I want to go to the Lincoln Forest and go fishing!

I just found out who Pliny the elder was in terms of real history. Interesting man. Odd that I read about him because of the beer named after him.

A lot to read to get caught up. Say no to drugs, my insomniac friends. I do think it's funny when the pills the doc gave me to help me sleep(I don't take them anymore), say "may cause drowsiness" "alcohol may intensify this effect", and there I was taking them to help me sleep. They worked great with 2 4%abv beers. Slept like a bear. Since I quit taking them, and the period of insomnia, just trying to relax more, anxiety comes because you are anxious, so you think, "what am I anxious about? what am I anxious to get done?". Then, start those projects, work your ass off and trust me, you won't have any trouble sleeping. Me giving advice on sleep reminds me of the time my cat ran away. :(

Agreed. Write down all the things that are making you uptight. Sort them into two lists - 1) things you can do something about, and 2) things you can't do anything about.

Try to do one thing off list 1 every day. At very least make a PLAN to tackle one thing on that list. Maybe it is something you have to schedule.

Take list 2, read it, shrug it off your shoulders, then burn it as an offering to the gods and RDWHAHB.

And it's been a very eventful day! (Sorry, this is a long story) This morning I walked outside and discovered wires and connecters laying on the ground around my truck. Very quickly I realized that my truck had been vandalized again just like it had been 1.5 years ago. The damage is almost exactly the same. The main thing is random wires under the truck had been cut. Specifically brake wires among others. They weren't clean cuts, but rather very rough, shredded cuts. When it happened last year I thought someone was trying to sabotage my truck and cause me to have an accident. After very close inspection and a little personal detective work I have determined who the culprit was. It was......... A DOG!! I discovered many bite marks and claw marks on the truck. It then occurred to me that it was likely the same thing last year, since the damage was exactly the same. My guess is that a stray dog was chasing down one of the many stray cats in my neighborhood and chased it up in to my motor compartment. Then it chews up anything in its way as it tries to reach the cat. Last year it cost me almost $500 to fix. This year it's looking like it will be about $250.... GEEZ!

Stauffbier...Id be hunting me some dog and cat tonight. We get the same type of damage from pack rats. We put a light under the car at night to keep them away. Them little btards can do 1000's dollars in damage overnight to wiring. Hopefully for you its much less.

Thanks! You're the 2nd person in 10 minutes to tell me about rats doing this. I'm quite sure this was a dog, though. It's just obvious when you see the damage. Not to mention all of the huge paw marks and bite marks all over the truck. So far, I think I just have to replace one ABS Sensor cable which runs $130.00. I hope it ends there... I plan on installing a fence when I can. For now I piled all kinds of crap under my truck, so hopefully a dog can't get under there.

That dog must have been really pissed at that cat to chew on the truck!

Yeah, no kidding. It even chewed threw a thick gauged 1/4" piece of braided cable. Hell, that's even hard to cut with cutters, much less teeth. I'm just glad it didn't hurt my daughter since she comes and goes very late at night. Not to mention it could have gotten in my backyard and killed my small dog or even gotten in to my house through the dog door.

That sux Stauff, but it's a great story. Expensive, but great.

I spent all kinds of money on security stuff around the house last year. I lost a ton of sleep thinking someone was trying to off me by cutting my brake lines. And it was just a stupid dog! haha..

That must be a relief. It sucks thinking somebody really might be trying to seriously hurt you.

I'm eating some of that cinnamon ice cream I made a while back... Yeah, the cinnamon flavor has intensified with time. Next time I make this I'll cut way back on it. Still good, just overly strong.

Strange how some spices and hot peppers in particular intensify with freezing.

True. I just hadn't realized cinnamon would be one of them. *cough* Next time, less cinnamon. I think I will add a bit of ginger too, or maybe even cardamon. There is also nutmeg and cloves in this, but not much. The result is somewhat one dimensional flavor wise. The textures isn't terrible, but it's not fantastic either...

I'm thinking I'll just do vanilla a few times, until I work out a recipe that produces the texture I'm looking for. I'm wanting a longer melt time in the mouth then this has. I really dislike ice cream with a lot of fat in it though. To me it tastes greasy.

Do I remember you saying you don't do dairy and use coconut milk? I have a hard time with unfermented dairy products, but cheese and yogurt are fine. My wife has been making some great yogurt that we've been using in sauces and such lately.

Anyone ever tried looking for commercial real estate online? Maybe it's just my lack of techno savy, but I'm having a heck of a time finding rental properties which is pretty funny since the area I'm looking at might have 20% occupancy.

It really is a relief. I was a nervous wreck for months last year. I would wake up a few times every night and run out my front door with a golf club yelling obscenities trying to catch someone in the act. haha..

Had a couple meth heads get lost on their way to their dealers house and end up in my driveway last year. They were just the pathetic and stupid kind of addicts, not the scary kind, but still had me on edge. We've got plans to move up to the hills in the next few years and I'll be getting a German Sheppard to train as a protection dog for my wife. I've always wanted to train a working dog and she's always wanted something to hurt bad people if I'm not arround to do it.

When I make ice cream, yes. I can drink milk in moderation, eat one yogurt, or eat as much cheese as I want. Ice cream, or lots of milk, doesn't agree with me though. It isn't a big deal, but if I'm going to make it I'd rather not have the lactose to deal with.

So, your neighbors now think your nuts. :D

Hmm, a shotgun doesn't need to be walked you know.
