Got a beer fridge yesterday

Got it for free. I wish I could post pictures here because I would have loved to do a before and after. This thing was nasty. I spent around three hours spraying, bleaching, scraping, wiping, and almost puking.

Looks like new now

It would make for a great kegerator, though I won't be making that conversion for a while.

what exactly do you mean by beer fridge? just a mini fridge specifically for holding lagering temperatures and your bottled beer?

that's what i need - did you grab it off craigslist? how much and what can it hold exactly.

Just an old fridge specifically for my homebrew and other "storebought" beer. That way I don't take up our main fridge space. I picked it up from my dad's house because it was sitting unused in his basement. I didn't even ask how it got in such terrible condition.

It will hold plenty of bottles and I could see it holding at least a couple of cornies and a tank.

Sure. What I mean is, and I don't mean to sound harsh, that nobody gives a ****...this is a Facebook status update, a blog at the most.

Post pictures, show your process, give us a reason to care. This type of thread adds nothing more to the forum than a post regarding what I made for breakfast.

2. I have found this forum very welcoming and inviting for people new to the hobby, like myself.......until now.

3. I would have loved to post before and after pics (as stated in my orinal post), but I'm not allowed to post attachments.

4. If your original intent was to get me to think about the value, or addition to the forum of my posts, there are probably more tactful ways to go about it.

This thread right here is exactly why I normally stay away from all message boards. Apologies If I polluted this board with mindless ramblings better reserved for facebook or some other social networking site that I don't really give a crap about.

I was genuinely interested in this guys post. he is right, most people here are very welcoming and friendly - i have never seen anyone be as harsh and negative as you until this thread - he is right when saying it's nice to share your excitement with like minded people.

i don't think he was trying to be *****y, he just wanted to see what you were talking about, hear more details or your plan etc., you know: wrap his head around it so he can take part in your excitement. More tactful ways to go about it? Probably, but i'm sure it's just that the context got lost, as it often does, in cyberspace. I certainly didn't intend for this thread to be such a big issue. I got caught up in my excitement. I do understand that context can get lost quickly online, which is why I am so leary of posting on message boards.

Thanks for the tip on pics. It kind of defeats the purpose now. Just looks like a normal fridge.....
