I didn't notice that baby either, what a deplorable man child

This all went from being funny to being very sad and not amusing

I don't really get the specific ragging on the guy with the baby, or folks who take them to other beer-related releases/events. As long as it's not an unsafe situation (e.g. standing in cold) or neglecting it in some other way, is there really an issue? Would kind of see it if young school-aged kid had to be dragged there to stand around with Dad and his loser acquaintances. Baby was probably either sleeping or staring at random things for no reason at all.

Guess I'm just wondering how much of it has to do with the prevailing sentiment towards waiting in line now for Pipeworks...

I'd say it is probably the thought that you're hoping a person who has a child to care for has their priorities in line better than that. It's not that people with children can't wait in line for beer, but if you have to care for your child at that time then maybe you just wait until the next beer comes out. If you have time and money to wait in line to purchase premium beer, that would intimate that you have enough disposable income to pay for childcare as an option as well. It's not about whether or not this infant is in any danger in that situation. It's about the thought process that went into the decision to go stand at a liquor store for an inordinate amount of time and take the infant out into the elements.

It really boils down to how you look at it. Can you take the kid and be indoors and avoid a catastrophe? Probably. Should that be what you do and would a rational person think that's in the best interest of the child? Probably not.

1. I don't think merely being in a store (alcohol-selling or not) with your kid is problematic. It's a kid, not a bubble-boy. We used to carry them on our backs through the wilderness hunting for meat for Chrissakes. Implying that there is some sort of failure of parenthood here is a very stretchy stretch.

2. Regardless, it is a funny image. "Ok junior! Time to go with daddy to stand in line! This here is a WHALE! It goes 'traaaade meeeee!'"

But what if said Neckbeard needs to stand in line for that beer so he can resell at shitlord secondary prices in order to afford to care for the baby? mybeercellar.com college fund perhaps?

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it. I have no issue with him bringing the baby, thats his decision. I just cant imagine putting myself through that experience, let alone putting my child through it. What a ****** way to welcome someone into the world... by having them wait in line with you for pipetwerks. :(

I found this less-than-safe-for-work image while searching for pipetwerks

A buddy works near Binnys-LP, drove past and saw this about 30 minutes before opening today.

Do we know the kid didn't get an allocation too?

I'd be curious to know how many people from the Binny's line this AM didn't get any PW too.... I'm betting that of the 40+ lined up in the picture (note: 30 mins before Binny's opened) only a handful got allocations.

How do so many people in Chicago seemingly always have time to line up on random weekday mornings and/or afternoons, and also hold down jobs to actually afford these purchases? I mean, I'm a professor so I have a pretty lax and flexible schedule by most estimations, and even I couldn't make it to all these ******* releases if I lived there.

Thanks to sites like MBC I'd bet some are full-time flippers. One guy on there, forget his handle now, seemingly has 20-25 bottles up for auction any given time.

How many people are we really talking about though, out of the several million who live in the Chicagoland area?

It looks way more ridiculous than it really is.

ITS ALL IN THE GAME BRO. WE STAY GRINDIN.

Never been a big fan of BA Wheatmiser myself.. had some of the beer they are releasing (wick Cherries) at Beer Under Glass when it was called Cubby Deluxe. It was alright. I'll assume the name was changed for obvious reasons (in regards to a bottle release).
Are you sure the one you had at BUG wasn't with blueberries? I know they made it separately with black raspberries, cherries and blueberries. I had a pour of the blueberry variant on November 7th I think at Clybourn.

Anyone see Emporium change their prices for their BCS event today after people bitched up a storm? Pretty funny, as they still would have sold out at the previous prices.

Anyone have/see a screenshot of the original prices...they deleted the post? Here are the prices as of now:

Okay, okay.... here is the UPDATED & final price list for today. After seeing how upset you all were about prices, we decided to take a hit on some of the profits. We based our prices on what we saw bars around town charging & apparently that was a bad idea. So, here ya go....

* 2009 BCBS - $40
* 2014 BCBS - $15
* 2015 BCBS - $25
* 2014 BCB Barleywine - $15
* 2015 BCB Barleywine - $25
* 2012 BCS Coffee - $35
* 2014 BCS Coffee - $15
* 2015 BCS Coffee - $25
* 2014 BCS Vanilla Rye - $50
* 2015 BCS Regal Rye - $35
* 2013 Proprietor's BCS - $65
* 2014 Proprietor's BCS - $50
* 2015 Proprietor's BCS - $35
* 2015 Rare BCS (raffle for purchase) - $90

I think 2009 was originally 60 and rare was 120. 12 Coffee was either 50 or 55. Those are the only ones that I really took note of the first time around.

People realize this **** is on draft all over the city for much lower prices right? Like you can just walk into the fulton tap room whenever and drink BCS without sweating your nuts off.

Catching up.

1. Binny's line: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
2. Penrose inevitable line and quick sell out for some reason: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
3. Baby in line: it was originally 50 degrees in line at 4Elf, got there at 3, baby there with NO SHOES, hat, or gloves. Initially, ok, no big deal it's not too bad out but still weird in general. Time passes, temperature falls, people start bundling up after the sun goes down, baby finds a pair of shoes yet didn't have a hat, gloves, or jacket. (Was wearing a small hoodie of some sort). Far be it from me to comment on parenting style or whatever, but it made more than a few of us in line uncomfortable.
4. Original Emporium prices:

I may or may not be pictured in this jacked up panorama.

I got there at 8:50 and still got 1 of everything. In and out by 9:10. People that got there right at 9 only got 2 or 3. The Jones Dog was the last they had. Supposedly sold out around 9:20

Babies are always the best (and I mean worst).

GTFO. Big Hugs isn't even that noteworthy. Do people even know what the beers they're lining up for taste like?

I'm not there. That's a tweet from an aquaintence.

From what I recall, they are releasing vanilla Big Hugs this year?

Though I fully agree. Big Hugs line? Ok. Whatever.

That's the weird thing. I swore it was blueberries. The name was much more indicative of blueberries. But I believe the program said cherries. And Jacob also said cherries. It was an odd situation.
