This all went from being funny to being very sad and not amusing

I don't really get the specific ragging on the guy with the baby, or folks who take them to other beer-related releases/events. As long as it's not an unsafe situation (e.g. standing in cold) or neglecting it in some other way, is there really an issue? Would kind of see it if young school-aged kid had to be dragged there to stand around with Dad and his loser acquaintances. Baby was probably either sleeping or staring at random things for no reason at all.

Guess I'm just wondering how much of it has to do with the prevailing sentiment towards waiting in line now for Pipeworks...

I'd say it is probably the thought that you're hoping a person who has a child to care for has their priorities in line better than that. It's not that people with children can't wait in line for beer, but if you have to care for your child at that time then maybe you just wait until the next beer comes out. If you have time and money to wait in line to purchase premium beer, that would intimate that you have enough disposable income to pay for childcare as an option as well. It's not about whether or not this infant is in any danger in that situation. It's about the thought process that went into the decision to go stand at a liquor store for an inordinate amount of time and take the infant out into the elements.

It really boils down to how you look at it. Can you take the kid and be indoors and avoid a catastrophe? Probably. Should that be what you do and would a rational person think that's in the best interest of the child? Probably not.

1. I don't think merely being in a store (alcohol-selling or not) with your kid is problematic. It's a kid, not a bubble-boy. We used to carry them on our backs through the wilderness hunting for meat for Chrissakes. Implying that there is some sort of failure of parenthood here is a very stretchy stretch.

I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it. I have no issue with him bringing the baby, thats his decision. I just cant imagine putting myself through that experience, let alone putting my child through it. What a ****** way to welcome someone into the world... by having them wait in line with you for pipetwerks.

I'd be curious to know how many people from the Binny's line this AM didn't get any PW too.... I'm betting that of the 40+ lined up in the picture (note: 30 mins before Binny's opened) only a handful got allocations.

Never been a big fan of BA Wheatmiser myself.. had some of the beer they are releasing (wick Cherries) at Beer Under Glass when it was called Cubby Deluxe. It was alright. I'll assume the name was changed for obvious reasons (in regards to a bottle release).

Are you sure the one you had at BUG wasn't with blueberries? I know they made it separately with black raspberries, cherries and blueberries. I had a pour of the blueberry variant on November 7th I think at Clybourn.

I think 2009 was originally 60 and rare was 120. 12 Coffee was either 50 or 55. Those are the only ones that I really took note of the first time around.

3. Baby in line: it was originally 50 degrees in line at 4Elf, got there at 3, baby there with NO SHOES, hat, or gloves. Initially, ok, no big deal it's not too bad out but still weird in general. Time passes, temperature falls, people start bundling up after the sun goes down, baby finds a pair of shoes yet didn't have a hat, gloves, or jacket. (Was wearing a small hoodie of some sort). Far be it from me to comment on parenting style or whatever, but it made more than a few of us in line uncomfortable.

That's the weird thing. I swore it was blueberries. The name was much more indicative of blueberries. But I believe the program said cherries. And Jacob also said cherries. It was an odd situation.
