Beer Temple definitely had Mattina when I was there a couple weeks ago and I remember seeing Duchessic there recently, too. These are both regularly available at WLV, too.I still need both of these beers, I have looked for them and have NOT found them...

Do you have any rare things that constitutes a drive in from iowa errrr i mean sycamore. Im all about the rareFor example, I had BCBS 2013 on the shelf for 2+ months last year. People need to LOOK and not just ask "What do you have that's rare? I like double IPAs, stouts, and sours?"
"Single Barrel."
THANKS, PENROSE. Way to add a new way to get people riled up. I hope your next release is "Single Barrel Reserve Pappy Van Cantillon Edition."
Well damn, I'll plan on swinging by during lunch today to relieve you of some of it then.FWIW, it's still here. No tweeting, no rebroadcasting - just for your guys
In all seriousness, yes we post pics of *most* things - but then that's it. No beermenus, no further mention. Most people forget about it the next day.
Having two production breweries in Chicago is new ground. We’re taking all that comes and coordinating our brewing company into two tactical beasts — let us tame them into creative servants.
The first release will be Get Right, a Kolsch from our archives. This cover of a German mainstay should set the pace for a new tomorrow.
What if HA is pulling the ultimate troll on #newmoney? What if they hype these beers up for #newmoney to line up hours in advance, then HA rapid fires these bombers out like once a week for months. Just to give people line fatigue and teach them a lesson.i really hope #newmoney decides to line up for a kolsch

Or hypes the holy hell out of the kolsch release from the new taproom, and quietly releases a line of BA Big Hugs varieties from the old store at the same time. What if HA is pulling the ultimate troll on #newmoney? I'm more pissed about the lack of getting kegs to have at the houseBig update from Half Acre:
We’ve spent the last year building a new brewery just up the road from our facility on Lincoln Ave. We're now transitioning and soon we will offer up a deeper explanation of what you can expect from our brewery.
One coming (hopefully temporary) change is our ability to sell you cans of beer in our store. While we’ve been selling cans all these years, we will no longer be canning beer on Lincoln Ave. Today, the law in Illinois only allows us to sell beer in our store that was brewed and packaged on site. Also, in an effort to maintain the inventory and variety you deserve, we're suspending keg sales in our store for the time being. We are working with lawmakers and hope that the stars will realign.
In celebration of the new brewery and to memorialize our inability to sell you cans, we’re putting together a series of bomber beers. The Sprawler series will only be sold in our store, quantities small and we’ll fire them off quickly.

Can anyone expand on this? Does this just mean that they're moving the canning line to the new location and will only be able to sell cans there? I usually just head to the HA taproom/store to buy my Senita cans since they're typically only a couple days old. I just need to know where to head now to do so.One coming (hopefully temporary) change is our ability to sell you cans of beer in our store. This is what I'm wondering too, cuz I thought I heard it was just a production facility? That's what it sounds like, but are there plans to have a storefront at the new location? Seems like it would be weird to have two Half Acre stores.

I recall that when they first announced but I thought they scrapped the restaurant idea? Maybe I'm mixing up all the HA announcements from the past few years? Just hope I can keep getting the uber fresh cans from whatever source.Sorry ... edited my post before I saw this. All the news reports from when the second facility was announced say there will be a taproom, but that was last March.
It's about a year old at this point, but this article suggests that the facility will house a restaurant and tap room:I recall that when they first announced but I thought they scrapped the restaurant idea? Either way, it should be interesting to see some of the experimental stuff coming out of the Lincoln location.
Magliaro said the plan is to make beer in the new Half Acre by October, with a restaurant and taproom to follow. Half Acre will continue to brew at its original location, but with the majority of the brewing heading north, the Lincoln Avenue taproom will likely be expanded.
The Balmoral brewery, which is about 60,000 square feet (compared to 13,000 square feet on Lincoln), will likely take on production of Half Acre's biggest-selling beers — year-round offerings like Daisy Cutter and Pony Pils — in a new 30-barrel brew house. The brewery's offices will also be moved there.
The Lincoln Avenue facility will be home to more experimental and smaller batch brews, Magliaro said.
From their email update (it doesn't give much info):Anyone know what that new PW barrel aged Cash 4 Golden ale (BA The Money?) is aged in?
And people can try it for themselves:I can add strong mike was more hyped when talking about that stuff when i saw him last than anything else. if the barrel guy likes it.... i'd honestly trust mike.
You don't do your taxes in a bar? LOLWTF.if i didnt have taxes to do i'd be highly tempted...
So my company ****** around and now I don't have to work on Saturday. Anybody still holding Stoutfest tickets?
If not, I'll set up a DLD tix battlestation. Win-win.
