Remember to vote for Backmasking at Stout Fest!

Yes! Forgot about that.

Backmasking on nitro is heaven in a glass. But still no excuse for bringing sub-par beers to an event like that.

But in all honesty, when's the last time FFF brought anything noteworthy to any beer fest? 2011?

They always send top tier juice to Hunahpu's Day, FW Invitational, and CBC.

top tier stuff at all festivals worldwide except ones held 20 miles to the northwest. I guess maybe that makes sense as they're trying to break new ground everywhere outside the 40 mile radius of munster, so they treat us as tina turner because we keep goin back to ike no matter how many times he does us wrong.

Not that it counts as noteworthy but they had Slave Princess (the small beer made from Dark Lord) one year. I liked it.

The Jester King-WLV release informs me that people will now line up for 3% ABV table beers. I whole-heartedly believe that a "rare" hefe from the right brewery would pull the same thing.

People bought a ******* $120 Pilsner. This isn't as far fetched as we're all making it seem like.

Somebody really needs to brew a 200-bottle count Hefeweizen and have a release party, just to **** with people.

Off Color would be the perfect candidate, they have the rep among the #newmoney crowd with DinoS'mores and the most amazingly sarcastic sense of humor/personality to make fun of the #newmoney crowd. With no ***** given, plus they make tasty malt beverages...

It's a sad day, but I feel as if I don't want to hear. You skipped my wedding for a beer festival for the rest of my life. They just don't understand.
you dont have a rule in place? no weddings during CCBW or in the few weekends DLD and Darkness could happen each year?

FTFY
That'll get #NewMoney panty's moist!

**** i dont really like heff's but that almost sounds good...

I'd definitely try it, but not standing in no line for it!
Also, they can then release a different adjuncted (is that a word?) Hefeweizen each following week so they can then be traded for each other, over and over.

Haymarket announced that they're opening a production brewery and brewpub in SW MI (looks to be pretty close to Greenbush). I'm down with 16 oz cans of The Defender and am looking forward to lines from there to 18th St. when they announce a Clare's Thirsty bottle release.

I think I read it'll be on a wooded 17 acre site. Sounds like it could make for some nice warm weather parties.

Speaking of expanding breweries, I just noticed that Baume has a tweaked label this year -- apparently, it's the first beer brewed at the new production facility. I haven't heard a single update from them about when it's supposed to open but, evidently, they have the plumbing hooked up.

Y'know, I'm totally on board with being the guy who laments how things that used to sit on shelves for months- like CW's BBW, as recently as two years ago- get swiped in minutes. And even though I only hear about CCBE stupidity from this forum, I'm all for letting those people get a lot of that blame.

But it's not like The Beer Temple is your secret spot. Every person interested in beer in Chicago follows Chris on Twitter. CCBE "rebroadcasting" something that everyone already heard isn't the problem here. They would be selling out of that tonight whether CCBE mentioned it or not.

FWIW, it's still here. No tweeting, no rebroadcasting - just for your guys ;)

In all seriousness, yes we post pics of *most* things - but then that's it. No beermenus, no further mention. Most people forget about it the next day.

I can never find Duchessic. Duchess a isn't hard. Duchessic is the one blended with 1 year old Cantillon lambic. I also live in the burbs but I've not found it at Beer Temple, West Lakeview, etc.

You aren't looking hard enough

The word cantillon is too small for folks to see. There's that other Italian saison blended with drie that sits too whose name I forgot.

Cantillon isn't on the label at all. Same with Beersel Matina (the one blended with 18mo 3F)

For example, I had BCBS 2013 on the shelf for 2+ months last year. People need to LOOK and not just ask "What do you have that's rare? I like double IPAs, stouts, and sours?"

far be it for me to argue with the man who sells me beer and sells my beer but.... (and in full disclosure these bottles are a few years old and probably past their prime because Im an idiot so the labels could have changed since then) ((EDIT - and I guess the cantillon is like coded in a thank you but its like kinda there)
