Just busting your balls, homie.I used the term IPA in my post knowing it was not technically correct, they call it an "extra pale ale." It's 4 IBUs below BJCP guidelines for an IPA so it's good enough for me. Sorry for offending you!

I'd bitch about Treebs and foscorelli for hitting up my local spot, but I haven't stepped foot inside the place in about 6 months.
Anyone hear anything this year about the Bourbon County tap takeover at Binny's south loop? Last year was oversold and didn't live up to expectations compared to the first year they did it. Still would like to RSVP to get a chance to try Prop and Vanilla without fighting for a pour at a tapping around the city.
To me it's more that they were utterly dumbfounded by his complaint. Not "don't be a freshness whore, man. It's not fresh but it won't be BAD at this age." It was just business as usual to have 3-month old kegs of (almost) IPA sitting around at the brewery and there's no reason anyone should even question it. I mean, it's within 180 days man! Just like the can says!
That's your brand representation at the source. If you don't think freshness is a big deal at the capital of your empire, good luck to the rest of us.
Same here. I could see getting an eye roll or two at a random bar but at the brewery? When the manager told me that they serve 4 month old Sidekick at the brewery I was seriously stunned. It made me wonder how many other places do that and consider it totally normal.
Probably happens all the time. What's more telling, IMO, is that customers can't tell the difference.
So Half Acre is releasing a new Black Ale in cans, Lead Feather. Can't say I'm excited, but I don't have too many experiences with Black Ales.

Will try and probably sigh deeply.
Not to belabor the point, but roast malt and Half Acre's typical grassy hop profile makes this beer sound like literally drinking a mud puddle.
how about half acre bring back some lagers?

Anybody know if either Rev spot does howlers or is it growler only? Either way I can't make the same mistake I did last week when I was in the city. Must get coffee eugene. I'm assuming they do growlers at both locations?
Maybe the first time ever I'm excited for taking clients to lunch in the Loop. Randolph Tavern looks pretty solid. Hopefully it is a beer lunch so I can try Fist City, otherwise...TO THE BREWERY! (shaking fist...pun intended)

Big negative on 32oz. howlers -- they may fill >64oz. bottles but I've never seen someone walk out with a howler. I would also recommend calling first if you're looking specifically for Coffee Eugene. They didn't have any last Sunday at the tap room, but they may have taken it off to make room for their barrel-aged stuff. I wouldn't count on their online beer list being accurate.Anybody know if either Rev spot does howlers or is it growler only? One of them is aged in some old Manhattan barrels. I'm pretty sure this is the beer that was at FOBAB and was quite if my drunken mind processed the taste correctly.
Edit: Here are the details:
Since last March, the big brew (10.9% alc/vol) has been aging in High West Distillery white oak barrels that previously held either High West’s 36th Vote Barreled Manhattan or its Barreled Boulevardier cocktails. The result is a new take on barrel-aged Imperial Stouts. (The Boulevardier Might Meets Right was awarded a bronze medal in the Experimental category at the Festival of Barrel Aged Beer in November 2014.)
An extremely small number of Boulevardier bottles ($25 each) will be released and they are limited to one per person. Up to three Manhattan bottles ($20 each) will be allowed per customer. (Prices include 9% IL sales and 6% Evanston alcohol tax.)
