Total domination over the Panthers..8-0. Rask gets the shutout, Marchand gets a hat trick... Won 6 in a row. 22-2-1. What a run...

With the Rangers win, the Bruins are back in sole position of first place in the east....

Anyone catch the rangers flyers score?? Stanley cup champs!! Hahahahahahahah

The Rangers are only relevant because of the Winter Classic and HBO. They're worthless when they rarely make the playoffs. Every team wins a game once in a while.

Relevent cuase were tied in pts with philly, 1 behind Boston, less games played, league leading goal scorer, solid goaltending, and in the winter classic. Oh yeah, and that whole original 6 thing......

And like Toronto, and more like Montreal, haven't done anything at all in the playoffs in almost 20 years, never do anything with those league leading scorers and elite goaltenders, and generally underperform when it comes to their salary number and star player roster.

Original Six status doesn't give you a free pass to remain relevant after years of continual mismanagement, overspending on players past their prime, and underachieving.

The Rangers will always have a fan base simply due to the metropolitan area they're located in. There are enough dumb people out of the tens of millions to watch a team that doesn't really go anywhere and does more to frustrate fans than win. I'm not saying you're dumb, just that it has to be frustrating to see your team continually not get passed the first round of the playoffs when they make it.

By all means, the Flyers haven't won the Cup since the 70s and I went through watching Bobby Clarke overpay/trade for decrepit former talent, but they still managed to get to the Finals, and do well enough to make the playoffs for something like 16 straight years. But that doesn't really mean anything other than frustrated fans and no parades.

The Rangers, since 1926, have 4 Cups, 1 conference championship, 2 President's trophies, and 5 division titles, in 85 years. Only one Cup since 1940...

The Flyers, since 1967, have 2 Cups, 8 Conference titles, and won the division 16 times, in 44 years.

I love the Rangers/Flyers games. I just find it comical when fans think a couple wins over a team who has mixed reviews on being a Cup contender or in a rebuilding status means the Cup ideas are out the window. The Flyers have started off well, but I don't expect them to win the Cup this year, I'd be surprised, especially considering the injuries they're dealing with.

Blues have been a bit shaky lately. Still getting points thanks to goaltending and crappy opponents. Hopefully we can pull it together tonight.

My team's been mediocre at best but I got to see them stomp the Failers last night!!!
Go BOLTS!!!

Yeah, Bryz looked like Daria last night. Tampa still sucks.

Gee, then I guess they would have made the finals last year if they didn't suck. Typical Philly fan. Do you guys throw batteries at the hockey games too or just at football games?

You do realize your talking to a contributing member of a hockey specific forum?
Show some respect.

That's because I'm much better at talking the game rather than getting mixed up in childish pissing contests. I'm a contributing member on hockey specific forum and the conversation there is usually amongst folks very knowledgeable about the game and there are rarely insults and bullsh*t. Some trash talk, definitely, but nothing stupid.

Typical fan of a team from a non-hockey market like Tampa...your team is sitting 13th in the East and and 26th in the league, but tries to hide that by talking about last season and an event in Philadelphia that happened before he was born (1960s). Yeah, one or two fans threw them at JD Drew in 1999, a ****** bag who held out from signing with the Phillies after he was drafted by them 2nd overall in 1997. One incident since the 60s and you and all the other ******* want to hang your Philly insults on that. Typical parrot fan who repeats everything he sees in the media and can't talk about the game and admit that his non-playoff team sucks.

Let's face reality - one Stanley Cup, one conference title (obviously the same year as the Cup), and two division titles, again, one was the 2004 Cup year. Other than that, awful.

W-L-T-OTL in 1,481 games: 565-713-112-91. Losing record. Goals for/against - 3,918/4,678: -760 deficit. 13 non-playoff seasons and going on 14 this year. Only 6 playoff years since expansion for the 92-93 season and only got out of the second round twice. Fair weather fans who show up only when the team wins a few games. Usually in the bottom third of attendance based on percentage of seats filled of the building's capacity. That's why you're probably the only one on the forum chiming in about the Bolts.

...and you want to talk about batteries?

St. Louis and Lecavalier aren't getting any younger and while Stamkos is there now, what happens when the first two are done and Stamkos wants to play for a contender?

24/7 was awesome last night. Watchin, again, the rangers laying an ass wooppin on 3 local rivals, 3 games in a row. Also got a laugh out of the flyers coaching staff being brave enough go to the local pub to watch a game and sitting in a private room. Ha. Lucky ott didn't remove some teeth........

Ps its not politically correct to call people ******* anymore, its handicapped.

Retarded equals handicapped? Sure, there is some form of impediment/impairment/deficiency, I'll give you that; however, handicapped does not equal retarded. That's why you hear the medically-retired Marine in a wheelchair who owns the CrossFit gym I go to once in a while constantly use term "handicapable." The guy is in better shape and does more races/competitive events than most people who have 100% use of their body parts.

From the Merriam-Webster dictionary:
retard (often offensive) : a retarded person; also : a person held to resemble a retarded person in behavior

Isn't the point of trash talk to be offensive, even if only slightly in having fun busting each others balls (or ovaries) about our hockey teams?

I'm not a fan of the political correct movement and I'm not a fan of making sure that not a single person on the planet experiences hurt feelings because of any single word that comes out of any person's mouth. It was politically and scientifically correct in the 1960s when the term "mongoloid" and "mongolism" were no longer used in reference to Down Syndrome.

Wikipedia's take:
Mental retardation (MR) is a generalized disorder appearing before adulthood, characterized by significantly impaired cognitive functioning and deficits in two or more adaptive behaviors. It has historically been defined as an Intelligence Quotient score under 70.

I would say using something that occurred over 50 years ago, before all parties involved in the discussion were born, in a different sport from that which is being discussed in this thread, and the fact the OP referenced the incident inaccurately (it was at baseball games, not football games, which is where Philly fans threw snowballs at Santa Claus), as some lame attempt at a comeback after I said his team sucks, fits the description of both Webster and Wikipedia and, based on my previous post, my claim that his team sucks is justified.

And to make everyone feel better since I obviously hurt JerseyShore's feelings, the Flyers have sucked badly over their last five going 1-3-1 with Bobrovsky being in net for the only win in that stretch.

In the unusually correct words of an otherwise handicapped retard...
