Stupid question of the day:
Did anyone actually try the Thimble Island BA Stout from last year? I had no idea it was a thing until my FB feed started getting bombarded by ads for their release this week.
Anyone try it yet? Just snagged a 4 pack so it did get limited distro. They used four roses barrels.

Oh yeah, just wanted to point out how ****** their actual brewery release was in hindsight. They were selling $8 bottles, $30 4 packs and cases for $150. I found someone to split a case with, which brought them down to $25 4 packs.

Not sure what everyone has seen them on the shelves for, but tons of places on beermenus have them listed for $20, seeing one at $18.

That it's significantly cheaper at stores kind of makes sense based on what one of the employees said to me that day. Something like "all the bottles sold today will help us pay for next year's barrels". It's a decent beer, but not one that I'm going to voluntarily pay an extra 25% for at the brewery annually.

Yikes! I think I paid like $16-18?

fixed

I think I got to the last Experimentalis release around 730 and was thirty something in line. Not sure when you had to be there by... I think I remember a friend showing up around 11 and everything was sold out by the time his number came up.
Yeah, I'm fairly certain I lack that kind of commitment. I'd be happy to just get the regular Oudilis, that was so easy the first time. Then again, so was Experimentalis.

The first oudilis release you would have been top 30. I think I was around 10 that time. Got there at like 7:30.
I doubt this time 7:30 will be early enough for top 30 :(

If anyone is in the area today, I highly recommend hitting Two Roads. Country Funk is bomb. It will take them hours to sell out today.

Unless they pull the bottles for sale around 2 or 3pm regardless of how much they've sold, like they do with all their other limited releases.

Anybody need 12 shippers? I have too many and you can have them for free. Will also gladly trade for 6 or 3 shippers.

I'll be in new Haven tonight and you can pick them up there.

Let me know.
Still available, but for Danbury area pickup. Also may be able to bring 1 to Norwalk on Saturday. Let me know.

Both of the Counter Weight releases from yesterday are awesome. I knew the pilsner was probably going to be great given Matt's well-known love of Elm City, but the depth and complexity of the stout really blew me away.
Agreed on both. I'll add that a draft pour of Headway at a pub friday was absolutely enjoyable.
