Any details on this? Also if anyone doesn't want their membership for round 3 and they are transferable or whatever I'd be interested in taking it over. Would love to have guaranteed Huna Day tickets.

Not yet. Current club concludes 12/31, so I imagine it'll be soon.

So did they for sure confirm a round 3 of Cat?
There will be no additional bottle sales of Error Establishing Database Connection. We bottled enough to satisfy the club, and the rest has gone to draft. This is the fifth and final release for this iteration of the club. Don't fret though; the 3rd edition of the El Catador Club is right around the corner.

And I'm just happy at the thought (dream) of a BA Huna being part of the next round.

That or some of those other BA Zhukovs that they had labels made for.

Are we getting a BA Zhukov with vanilla beans? I didn't know if that label with the baseball cap was a joke or not.

The Apple Brandy Zhukov w/ Vanilla beans is going to a beer group because they won a charity raffle and they got to brew any beer of their choice with CCB. No release of it of any kind and I was told the bottle count will be between 150 to 200ish from someone who is in the group.

Well that sucks, I thought el cat members got access to all BA treatments. Havent really enjoyed any beer in round 2 and was looking forward to a BA Zhukov/Hunahpu treatment.

This hurts my delicate sense of entitlement.

Leon and BA Cafe Americano were so ******. Catador Round 2 = Bust.

Anyone interested in a gopickitupformrbro? Just need my last two el cat bottles. In return I'll offfer a label and a SARA gopickitupformrbro at some point.

Looks like this is CLOSED!!!

hey fam apparently this is the last day or something and my trustee is out of town. anyone want to be a doll and pick up/ship two bottles? pls pls pls? and pranked me saying he didn't pick it up yet.

so, uh, PSA for all y'all

I'm excited for Round 3! That email sounds promising.

The price stays the same which is nice but not getting first shot at other barrel aged beers sucks and beers not being exclusive kind of makes me feel like the club's only real purpose is to get people to blindly pre-pay for bottles. Of course, I don't live near the brewery so the discount doesn't matter to me and I didn't think any of the last five bottles were worth $30.

I can understand if you're not local why you would be upset. That 10% discount basically pays for the club over the course of a year. It's just nice not having to worry about dropping everything you're doing to try and buy these bottles. There are hits and misses with almost every membership.

I'd like to just take a second and commend Joey for the entire tone and content of the most recent email. He should reach out to J Wakefield and give him a lesson on how to demonstrate more couth when dealing with loyal patrons of his brewery.

I'll attempt how JWB's would look:

Greetings Suckers who paid $50 for berliners,

The OG club has come to a close. Finally. I wanted to personally thank every dumb ass for being a part of the club and paying $300 so I can pay strippers to be photographed while drain pouring my beer that could have been given to you. It is very important to me that JWB continues to get custom star wars portraits and explore new ways in which to break new ground in how to half ass a job. For that reason, the OG club has taken on a special meaning to me. It is my personal troll playground, the escape and the reminder of why I got into the beer business in the first place: to suck every last dollar out of your non-cross fit, tubby, bodies. As JWB has grown from the 1 star wars mural to the two star wars murals powerhouse, I have had to come to terms with the fact that while much of my passion lies in trolling all you tubbies by giving you ****** BA quads, I contractually owe you nothing from the kickstarter and the better troll would be to give you squat. This year more than any other has brought that lesson home to me. So, once again, thank you helping me build my brewery and providing me and the rest of the staff with this outlet to let people explore just how much they can be taken advantage of.

Behind the scenes, the crew that handles OG have perfected the ability to string you on just enough to not cause a total **** show. Both in terms of making the process less streamlined for members and to decelerate the time period in which beers are released. As I touched upon in the opening paragraph, we have never struggled with the need to balance core beer production with our desire to fulfill our OG obligations. This year was no exception, but in many unseen ways we made great strides toward finding that balance. Future editions of the OG Club WILL move less quickly, unless you're local. Possibly alarmingly so for some.

To facilitate slower throughput of future club editions, address issues and challenges from prior clubs, and ensure a more consistent experience, we are implementing unneeded changes that will give us more flexibility in ******* you over and ensure a fatter wallet by JWB:

What WIll Stay The Same:

- $300 per membership capped at 1500 people, but will definitely go up if we actually hit the cap.

- Definitely three different bottles, but possibly UP TO A BILLION, per JWB edition.

- Some glass that will just take up space and cannot actually function as a glass. Will probably just be a glass from target that I've put a tag on and signed myself!

- 10% off in the tasting room.

- I will personally trustee for everyone. Srs.

- All bottles must be picked up no later than five days after each bottle is released. I don't have tons of space to store your stuff!!!

- Custom JWB home brew capper - I'm no longer responsible if it leaks in transit!!

- First right of refusal for the next OG edition.

  • What is different about this edition of the club?
    • We have partnered with Nexternal to handle the web based portion of the club. Once you renew your membership online, you will have access to your personal El Catador Club account. This account allows you to stay up-to-date on which bottles are available, which of your bottles have been signed out (and by whom), purchase additional products, change your trustee, and update your personal information at any time. Checking out bottles in the tasting room has been simplified to an easy search of your name on a tablet. As soon as your bottle is signed out, it will be reflected on your personal account.
  • Can I Have a Trustee?
  • Yes. You can designate someone as a Trustee to pick-up your bottles in your place. To assign your Trustee, go to the My Account tab under your name on the top right hand side of the El Catador Club site after you have logged in to your account. You can designate your trustee under the Contact Information section. This is also where you can select for someone else to use you as a trustee.
  • Does my Trustee have to register themselves?
    • Yes. Your Trustee must create an account at store.cigarcitybrewing.com under the First Time Customer section. We are requiring registration for Trustees going forward so that we have contact information for everyone picking up bottles: not just members.
  • Can I give someone else my membership to renew in my place?
    • No. The name and membership must match our records. You cannot transfer your membership to someone else under any circumstances.
If you do not intend to renew your membership, we are sorry to see you go! We would appreciate if you could please offer some feedback by taking a moment to respond to this email with a short description of your reasoning. Thanks

Once you have signed up for edition three, take a look around the new site to familiarize yourself with the new additions.
