Revvy , you stated in another thread that 99.9% of all questions have been answered and to do a search first. I searched for this and I cannot find an answer....
I was brewing last night and got everything ready for, and in the primary...Pitched the yeast and slapped the lid and airlock on.....then I noticed the cat was missing...heard some meowing and splashing and scratching. Looked in the primary and yep ypu guessed it,,,there was the cat soaked to the bone in sweet wort. NOW my question is did I mees up by wringing the cat out into the primary? I mean come on no one wants to waste beer...also will this raise my ABV?

What was the temp of the wort? If under 100 degress then you are ok.

Steve you really f'd up... Everyone knows that a cat needs to drip dry over the wort. This way the fur filters out the the hot and cold break . Next time hang it by its tail till dry.

I would have left the cat in myself. I mean some ipas ARE described as "Catty" afterall. :D

Now dry petting I guess is ok in my book, if that's what you want it's your beer after all...

However I do frown on this....

At least the damn cat licks itself clean.

:D

Will this brand new awesome technique work with a Great Dane? I don't have any cats and wondered if the substitution would be OK. Thanks!

And don't anyone forget the ever popular lesbians in a keg option.

New brewers, please be aware that these are all advanced brewing techniques only, and shouldn't be attempted during your first 10 batches. Stick to the basics and nail down your process first. Unless you can nail those two of course, then more power to you. :rockin:

just remember to take of the pampers ... the plastic is toxic

Because you say so? People have been using plastic in brewing for years with no issues. FWIW most diapers I think are a mix of types 1 and 2 food grade plastic.

I mean, baby poo used to be food, so it only makes sense.

Quit trying to confuse noobs!

Man here we go with that old autolysis crap (get it) again...everyone knows that autolysis doesn't smell like baby poo, it smells like gorilla poo in a diaper tossed out a car on a desert highway, 48 hours ago. :D

Good call on the matching belts. I tried the lesbian addition once. The clashing belts made for a bitter aftertaste.

I may be a newb, but even I know that you're supposed to steep a cat.

As a frequent traveler to Korea I usually like my cat with a lot of rice...think Oriental Brewery or Oriental Budweiser as it's sometimes called...

Steeping is OK, but I prefer to mash them...;)

My doctor told me once that I was a lesbian stuck in a man's body...:D

You look at a pic of two hot chicks making out and you notice how their accessories are coordinated? Are you trying to reveal something about yourself we don't know? ;)

LMAO - Good to see that I'm not the only smart a$$ that hangs out here while failing to be productive.

Jumping in late on this thread I do have a few questions... What IBU's does cat pee contribute anyway. FWH, 60, 20, 10, flame out and DH? I'm thinking about using 3-4 different kinds of cat pee so would it be better to blend them or add them separately at different intervals? How does it work with hop bursting? And lastly, is it better to use the liquid or clumps?:ban:

you really should do a 60 min boil on the cat as they are really only good for bittering and Aroma.

Cat pee is really just for color, it imparts only the slightest flavor.

If you do use the "clumped" style of cat pee the clumping material may offer some finning to your finished product. :D

For Dry hop after you are finished you can, and should, cook it afterwards as it would be a pitty to let it go to waste.

Note that if you mash your cat and it's shedding season you may want to use a couple handfuls of rice hulls to avoid a stuck sparge.

Huh I will have to give this cat method a try... I always use mine for airation as I haven't bought an O2 tank yet.

As for the use of babies or lesbians I have only seen them as a byproduct, so again thanks for showing me new ways to use the "waste" after brewing.

Oh yes... we all know beer can lead to babies. And I've seen beer cause temporary lesbianism many times.

I think if you get them as kittens they go right in. You may have to feed and age your carboy for a bit to get the proper ratio of cat to wort.

You are correct:

Please note this site is only a joke. Figured it had to be mentioned ;)

The real questions are: "Will a cat increase my SG?" and "What flavor profiles are attributed to specific species?"
