Having tea while my pre boil sample cools. Want to see how closely it matches my refractometer. Have used it in over a year.

Who the Flocc taught Gavin how to make ipas???
Maybe he can science me a good water profile. God knows I'm not willing to take a crack at that

PKUing on the rest. Going bar hopping with SWMBO tomorrow. Hopefully no more bets will be lost where I have to post a picture of her choosing.
 
I already have the other grains crushed (Red X) and my blender is a POS. Barely over a cup, for a few minutes, 90% still whole, and the kitchen smelled like ozone. It would blow up before I got through all 1.75 pounds.

I am pretty much resigned to have to wait until tomorrow night to brew, so I can go to my LHBS tomorrow afternoon and have them crush it. Not a big deal, really, just had my whole mind-set geared up for tonight.

Ah, you need to put more in.



Tried the hydro sample and nothing really stood out. To be honest though, I don't know what harsh tannins taste like. Probably similar to Biff Tannen.


It would be really astringent... Dry your mouth out.

Think of the bitterness really good (read: strong) black tea has.

m00ps brett IPA, my first of the kind. Surprisingly nice! 8%? It was too easy to drink.

A free drink after, thanks to the kids.

Last, buddy brought from a California trip. Nice IPA. Antibiotics are working, proper tastes coming back.

DIPA..never give never surrender. First known good recipe using Brew'n water from EZ.


That Brett IPA is stinking great.
