Vi is for Vienna lager.

True blue boring lager. (Bit like ***** Modello)

Glad you like the Alt. I'm quite happy with that beer. My first attempt at a recipe.

It's actually an ale but really tastes like a lager. Fermented at near lager temperatures...yada yada yada ...... glad you like it buddy.

Left the beer festival early. keeping my powder dry for tomorrow's award night. Fingers and toes crossed. Saw some big HB hitters there tonight including this year's Ninkasi brewer and a couple of chaps who generally sweep the medal table. Yikes, feeling very unworthy.

More beer to drink tomorrow in any case. Fun night talking to fellow HB beer nerds.

I quite love ***** Modelo. It's in the fridge.

Again, kicking my self for not going.

I think this glass Allen sent me has a leak. Better get some Bastard.

6 minute Alt. Holy woodpile!

I quite love ***** Modelo. It's in the fridge.

Again, kicking my self for not going.

It was fun. Drank more sours and Brett beers than I have ever in my life. Brett is OK. Still not digging the sour thing but I'm trying to learn.

The saisons tonight were hit and miss. A couple were too clovey/ peppery for my tastes. Others were good. Seems to be all over the place, Saisons. A style worth exploring. Can't wait to try @thecadjockey 's.

That's either a really large room with not a lot of people in it or some serious depth of field action. :)

Massive room. Fecking ridiculously big.

I'm guessing there were 30+ breweries with booths in the room and you could easily have organized a game of touch football in the middle with room to spare.

The next door room was the same only with homebrew not commercial.

Hundreds of folks there. 1500+ Competition entries and many many more attendees.

Here is the building it's in. Irving Convention Center.

Stopped at a buddy's after the Green Bench sour event. Fun times @disturbdchemist @Hello @TobyG Got home and drank this abomination. Anyone ever had this before? Has to be the worst beer I have had in 5 years. Onto homebrew stout, then bed.

Oh, and it looks like "drink myself stupid" tomorrow night won't fly, as I'm up for an early morning kickabout with the new league side Sunday morning, prior to season starting the following Saturday. Really happy to be getting back on the pitch. Condition should be good enough to make it. See how I do, and if it comes back to me like I expect, I may move up to the competitive division for the next season.

That is, if I don't break my ankle. Came way too close way too many times when I was young. I suppose that'd be a fun bet. Rather than "Guess How High @Psylocide Places" it's "Guess How Many Matches Before Qhrumphf Injures Himself"

I should do that. Let's do that. Same deal.

:D

On to this. And watching house of cards.

On another note, KBS: wasn't a huge fan of it last year but willing to give it another shot this year. Is it hitting shelves soon?

We're supposed to see bottles around here starting Monday, but we're also 30 minutes from Founders. I thought I read somewhere that April was when most of the distro would hit. This past Monday was the kickoff of tappings.

Up early. Ready for the last ski session of the winter!
Tried the og ipa and the best bitter last night. Both were ok. The white ipa was a slightly more bitter Belgian white. Not much hops aroma. Pretty disappointed. Though now that I know it's just a Belgian white, I can go into expecting that, and then it's good.
