Morning jak

Oregon Gorge you showed last night looks fantastic. I'll be up in the PNW (Seattle and Victoria/Vancouver island) in a few weeks. Seeing these pictures has me very excited.

I'd like living in that neck of the woods. The blackberries on the hedge rows reminds me so much of home, grabbing some grub mid hike. Here is our small version of that gorge or as close to it as I can envisage.

Two places worth a look if you ever head that way.

Morning all .

Looks fantastic. I might do a UK/Ireland trip soon. Next year maybe spend a week there before heading to Germany. Won't be enough time to see almost any of it. Probably have to pick just one country, maybe two.

The views from your man-servant carried sedan chair are extraordinary.

Ooo here goes a good one...
when you travel, do you take beer with you or leave it to chance to try something local that you wouldn't try normally?

morning all

I typically scout out breweries via google and this site http://www.brewerymap.com/ go to the road trip tab and get a list of all breweries on your trip and figure out what you want to try from there

At a minimum, I find out what breweries are in the distro area if I'm heading to a populated area.

If camping or going to the middle of nowhere, I try to find a place semi-close or along the way that i can fill a couple growlers or at least grab some beers I wouldn't have access to at home.

Yeah, a fishing trip or trip to the driving range is traveling too. Usually pack some cans for those days. Maybe I need to find something I enjoy drinking that can be put in a flask.
I wish I had a green thumb, but unfortunately everything I touch dies.

Man, I'll trade you ridiculous amounts of produce/herbs/vegetables/hops to go on a fishing trip. I'm in desperate need of some de-stressing.

Ugh, now my notifications only show me my "likes" and nothing else. Woe is me

On the upside, Im popular again! Wheee

@1977Brewer
shipped!! tracking info should be ready after 2 pm est.

I have compiled a spreadsheet with shipping statii and links to tracking for each. 3 left their origin terminals yesterday, 3 leaving today so far.

This will be the best weekend to remove and reinstall flooring, I tell you whut. And then next weekend when my wife's idiot cousin visits, I will drink and hide in the garage.

Thanks, the mentions worked but not the quotes. I think I just need to sift through it all. Feels like my boss' email inbox

I remember my first like.

Also, another question of the day:

Do red notification numbers need to die? I can't stand them anywhere, facebook app, messengers, missed calls, emails, here on HBT, etc. I need to clear them immediately.

My wife on the other hand has a red '900' (or so) above her email on her iPhone at all times. It gives me anxiety just to look at it.

I wouldn't recommend working on anything in the house while drinking anything I send to you. There should be warning labels on some bottles lol

:edit: ok, maybe the can...anything glass, probably a good idea to wait till you can be stationary for a bit

LOL, yeah. I can only take fleeting glances at SWMBOs gmail inbox, both work and personal. I dont get it

Oh I don't drink while I work. I reward myself handsomely afterward. A session beer or three, tops, while the job is underway. Power tools + beer + Clint = ER visit.

Do red notification numbers need to die?

I find them necessary and at the same time, I must not have any. The only time they bother me is when they are not relevant to my participation. My problem with HBT notifications is that I only receive about half of them. I don't like missing when someone asks me something or makes some arrogant remark involving me talking about work.

Facebook on the other hand, is horrible and I really could not care any less. I've got a stupid amount of notifications and not one of them involves anything I am concerned with. I know it's my brothers birthday. I was the only person that called him. I assumed he had enough meme's on his page from people that "care" and he didn't need another.

Yep. I have to clear that stuff out immediately.

SWMBO uses her email to sign up for every mailing list, rewards club, whatever. If she doesn't keep her phone on silent, the email beep goes off every 5 minutes. I don't know how she notices any real emails mixed in with the junk.

No notification goes unread or undeleted. Ever.

Oh god.

My email inbox (work and home) has 3-5 emails at any one time in the 'general inbox.'

I read the email, stick in the the correct sub-folder and there it sits. If I delete something, I delete it completely. I hate having anything in there as well.
