Traveling: I buy beer when I get there. I don't go places that won't have beer. Galveston has beer, so I go there.

Restless brain syndrome: I has it. Work causes it. I could cure it if I liked homelessness.

The brain in my pants: I stopped letting it make the important decisions after he tried to get me divorced. See my homelessness comment above.

My brain just likes to keep me from falling asleep. Especially when I am exhausted. It tends to think I have to be working over some trivial crap or gets me asking myself why I said/did something 10+ years ago. My brain is a dirtbag.

Ugh. This all the time. I'll be up half the night and my wife will ask what was wrong.

"I don't know. Just a lot of stuff running through my mind."
- "Like what?"
"Everything, and nothing."

But, of course that can't happen when I'm doing mindless paperwork at work, it has to be at stupid o'clock in the morning.

Ooo here goes a good one...
when you travel, do you take beer with you or leave it to chance to try something local that you wouldn't try normally?

I don't travel with beer, unless it's beer/homebrew to swap in person with someone.

Had one of those nights where I woke up and felt like I had 5 million things to do or the earth would explode. Woke up in the morning and realized that the reality of it was that I had 3 phone calls to make...

What causes our brains to do that **** to us?

Restless sleep last night here too. Woke up 4 times completely perpendicular to how I started. No idea how it kept happening.

Also was having a random dream, weird thing about it was it was in my middle school, but with high school teachers/friends. Silly brain.

Morning.

Thats actually exactly what i brewed back in nov 2014 thanks to BGBC. He contacted the brewers and got the recipe. Thanks for sharing to confirm though!

I thought you had the recipe, but couldn't remember if you got it from the brewer.

Woke up in Mexico once after a night of hard partying in CA. The guy who thought it would be funny to put three seriously drunk people in his car and drive down also thought it was a good idea to offload us at a scumbag motel and hit a bar solo. He was making eye balls at this chic that the locals were enamored with, so they wound up taking him from the bar out back, beat him down and removed four of his teeth with pliers.

What the actual ****?

I don't bring beer unless I know I'm going somewhere that won't have any or if I won't have time to grab it (usually work related).

Coffee and paperwork. Started this morning in a good mood, only since I got lucky. Back in usual Tuesday mode now, dreading the evening...

Whenever I travel I bring beer, cus it's always for vacation. Camping is a couple hb kegs and a bunch of commercial beers, whereas trips to family places I bring hb to share with the family.

Can't sleep most nights without having at least a few beers, otherwise my brain just keeps running. Herbal remedies help too.

I spent several weekends in Tijuana, I had no idea how dangerous it was. I was just a simple kid form a small southern town.

We were always in a group of 10 or more. Never had any issues.

Drive down from 29 stumps?
My group always wound up doing stupid **** like that lol. One weekend me and a friend flew out to Ohio on a regular weekend from the Stumps so he could go to his girlfriends prom. I got roped into going along as a blind date. We had a great time, I'm actually kind of regretful we didn't have a longer stay.
Two dudes rolling up into a senior prom wearing Dress Blues...what a great time to be 18 lol

No, when we had to go to Pendelton for weapons training. We were there for 2 weeks doing nothing until we got picked up. We did not have to report to anyone for those two weeks, so we just did our thing.

I noticed a lot of that, unfortunately I didn't have that opportunity. We arrived in for MCT and went right through intake. It was immediately after the Christmas/New Years holiday, so there was no back log. I graduated basic two days before Christmas. Flying home there was a snow storm where we wound up circling the airport for 3 hours extra. Finally made it home to find some dirt bag broke into the house, unwrapped all the Christmas presents and took off with what they liked.

Slowly recovering from an aggravating morning. Puppy started whining an hour earlier than usual; I got up to save the wife some sleep, and took the puppy outside. Once she did her business, she wanted to come in, but she didn't want to come in. Whining when I go inside, open the door to let her in and she runs away. Yeah. I don't play that game. Made breakfast and figured I'd turn on the news for a change... checked three news channels. Nothing but commercials and drug ads. The only story I ended up catching was on how to combat your kids if they're spending too much time staring at their phones instead of with family.

End rant. End morning project. One more coffee to wash down the bullshirt start and begin again. Time to plan brewday.

Supplier meetings are so dumb.

"So you're still placing POs, thanks. We like that."

"Yeah, no problem. You're still shipping us product, thanks. We like that.

Good talk, safe trip."

Is going out to a restaurant or movie theater nearly walkable distance from your place considered "traveling?" If yes, then I also always have beer on me when I travel. Have a buddy that is able to grow things about as good as I am with brewing. Or, in other words, probably terrible

Huh? Sorry my face was glued to my phone. You have kids????

Seattle it the obvious choice being in the Pacific Northwest. Atlanta might be the sleeper pick though- lots of breweries; buuuuuuut you are still in the dirty south

Oh, Ive lived in the dirtiest of the South. Not much better here. But yeah, you guys sold me Seattle it is then. I just need to figure out whether I want to take the Process Piping Design class or Selection of Pumps and Valves for Optimum System Performance class. Both seem soooooooooooooooo interesting

No. I just get frustrated whenever I give the News Channels another chance. Their idea of news is reporting on some "new thing" that will help people that can't figure out how to raise their children... some horrible crime... or other overly negative, fear-inducing topic.

Garbage.

Pumps, naturally. Take a daytrip down to Portland and I'll beer you. Maybe.

I only watch the locals, and only for the weather and traffic. I get all my other news from Twitter and my wife.

Morning jak

Oregon Gorge you showed last night looks fantastic. I'll be up in the PNW (Seattle and Victoria/Vancouver island) in a few weeks. Seeing these pictures has me very excited.

I'd like living in that neck of the woods. The blackberries on the hedge rows reminds me so much of home, grabbing some grub mid hike. Here is our small version of that gorge or as close to it as I can envisage.

Two places worth a look if you ever head that way.

Morning all .

What I am not supposed to take the phone and toss it into a corner of the back yard?

I have days where turning my phone off would increase my happiness 10 fold.

Garbage.

Could be worse...it could've been presidential race coverage.

EDIT: Mentioned politics. Self-reported.

The views from your man-servant carried sedan chair are extraordinary.

Yeah, a fishing trip or trip to the driving range is traveling too. Usually pack some cans for those days. Maybe I need to find something I enjoy drinking that can be put in a flask.
I wish I had a green thumb, but unfortunately everything I touch dies.
