Hey, my Dad is a retired Zoology professor with a PhD and actually discovered some parasites. And if you get a parasitic infestation, just remember: ain't no undergrad going to tell you what that **** is!

Granted we didn't get a lot of snow (2-3") but I couldn't believe there was no one out pulling doughnuts last night. I've taken my boys 2 or 3 times this winter and haven't seen another person or even a track. 3 different places too. Either I don't know about the secret sledding spot, or no one does that with their kids anymore.

Drinking water at work if anyone cares.

FTFY.

Hey - Austin-ites and locals: gonna be down in San Antonio for Spring Break (week before Easter), and am planning to visit Austin for two days (one night). Any particular area I should be looking to stay/visit? I will have a 15yo and a 6yo in tow, so can't necessarily go every place I might go on my own.

So, if you're staying in downtown San Francisco for work without a rental car, what is a cost-effective way to get to Russian river? Doesn't look like an easy way via mass transit and uber/taxi would cost a fortune. Looking like I'll have to rent a car for a day??

I had a rental car for that. Golden gate is a toll road so you have to pay for it. Depends renting or uber is the cheaper option. Probably rent for a day

Jester King, if you like sours. Pretty cool atmosphere, live music, and an on site pizzeria for the kids. I think they're only open Friday/Saturday/Sunday though.

Pinthouse Pizza is another good place for pizza and beer (brewpub).

Check out the Greenbelt or McKinney Falls if you're into the whole outdoorsy hiking thing.

Gourdoughs Donuts/Public House if you want to give your kids the diabeetus while you drink some more.

Check out Franklin BBQ if you want to stand in line for hours on end while your kid cries and you wait for them to run out of food.

Check out Capitol City Trap & Skeet if you want to experience the thrill of getting Dick-Cheneyed by some hipster who's never held a gun before.

Check out Sixth Street if you want to get thrown up on by a drunk sorostitute.

So they're like the Tired Hands of food?

Water. I'm like a ninja in the office today - nobody seems to know I'm here so I'm getting a lot of work done!

That's what I figured. Was hoping there was some other mode of transportation I'd never heard of that was cheap, fast, reliable, and convenient. Haha.

Check out what Hunter said go to Austin beer guides website on all the breweries in the area. Up north there are Austin Beerworks, Adelberts, 4th tap, and circle in the same area. Hit Draught house on Medical is a must. Pinthouse pizza (Original) is around the corner. Any questions let me know. I go there pretty often. I'll be there Feb 27 weekend.

I avoid all that. Havent been the the trap and skeet yet but I know how to fire a gun. Franklins is over rate and never worth waiting in line though I havent had anything from them. I rather drive to luling, TX for great BBQ

Chez Nous is a great French resturant just off the hubbub of 6th. Great food, good beer selection (Fin du Monde last time I was there) and nice atmosphere.

Also Salt lick BBQ is great. A bit outside the city but woth the drive. It's BYO but they do have beer and wine there too. The food is great. Fantastic place to eat drink and relax.

The skeet range is actually quite a bit of fun, but the Easy course is overrun with yahoos. Last time we ran the Intermediate course, and we had it entirely to ourselves for most of the time we were there.

There's too much good BBQ in the area to wait in line for it. That nonsense is for idiot hipsters riding the hype train. (I feel the same way about beer). Black's in Luling is good, among many others.

That was my day yesterday. It was awesome.

That, and I think everyone from outside assumed we were closed for President's Day, so my phone wasn't blowing up like it usually does.

Also Salt lick is Cash only. They have a ATM but bring cash if you go.

I don't think the Hyperloop has a scheduled stop at Russian River. Also won't be finished until never.

Was never that impressed by the actual food at Salt Lick, but worth going for the atmosphere. Favorite in Austin was La BBQ, but would always go on the earlier side and weekday lunches to avoid lines.

Wow. It will be interesting to see how this goes. If it's successful, it might slow the BMC acquisitions.

or make it easier.

Considering most equity groups primary purpose is to make money for their investors, and the BMC's of the world don't seem to have a problem writing large checks.
It doesn't say ownership stakes, but it's the same way that Craft Brew Alliance started out and now AB-InBev owns 33% of them.

I hope the owners get out of it what they want.

I'm no expert when it comes to BBQ. I really like it though. The place is really relaxing. Loads of kids there usually which is good for me as I've got my two little ones with me and they usually find someone elses to play with. Means I can have a couple of cold ones undisturbed. I like the indoor/outdoor feel too. Well worth a look I reckon.

Every time I take about BBQ on here I end up with a must-satisfy hankering for Hard8 BBQ.
