Sounds like a good plan. What was your OG? It was a big Helles if memory serves. Weren't you up at ~1.06?

Doing the same thing myself today 7 days in after a slow start. My WLP833 was too slow.

I think it's junk after too many repitchings so I pitched 2 packs of rehydrated Saflager 34/70 after 2 days of no activity.

SG within 1-2°Plato of expected FG. Upped the setting from 50 to 68F for a gentle rise over the next couple of days. Pils is still bubbling away slowly. I expect it will be 1.007 or 1.008 for a finish.

Nah the helles was pretty much your recipe. Pils is the one that wound up over 1.06 and then I diluted a bit. Figured out why it happened... used the beersmith profile from my old HERMS setup ><, plus think I boiled off more than usual.

Something fast and fresh

Here's something fast and fresh

Nothing, just got back from taking the baby to the park. Now getting ready for my run. Beers soon to cancel all the exercise. :D

Took dag to park. He had a good time. Then we went and got pizza. About to go shopping I'm down to pretty much a single pair of jeans. Keep ripping holes in my crotches...

I've been wearing the same pair of jeans for ~1.5 years now. I've washed them probably 10 times.

Just found out I won my first gold medal for my peach sour in the American Wild Ales category at Homebrew Alley in NYC. Best of 27 entries! :rockin:

My flanders red also scored well in European Sours with a 37, but I think it was a strong category. The guy who won NHC last year with his gueuze took 1st again with a Framboise.

First beer done. Suppose to be a mild but at 1.065 it isnt anymore. Guess i need to factor my increased efficiency when making a recipe. Guess itll be a english brown. About to mash out for my second beer and english ipa. One yeast 2 beers

Nice. I need to enter more but i have limited sours and usually do not bottle in approved bottles.

I think the new BJCP categories help (somewhat). Having a separate category for American Wilds is definitely a step in the right direction.

But yea, gotta de-label those bottles if you want to submit ;)

Congrats mate. That's some result.

Saw this beer posted in the other thread

Wonder if they'll get a C&D from Brewery Vivant like TH did...

I saw someone check in a beer called Abacus the other day. I guess we're really running out of beer names when new beers get named the same thing we've seen d&c's for.

Congrats!

We just got back from skiing. It was cold, but it snowed all day so the slopes were nice. It wasn't even that busy until the last run. Now we're hanging with the dag by the fire.

Had a Weiner beer while kegging some cider. Now a RIS because RIS.

This is much better warmed, fins. Almost glad my wife accidentally unplugged my keezer last night. Almost.

I do agree the coffee is a little astringent. I'll have to try one on the warmer side. Still got about ten of those. :D
