Thats a lotta knob.

That's what she said. I needed something at least 100 proof to keep a 5 gallon barrel hydrated but also wanted something of decent quality. Seemed like a good compromise and the price was right at Sam's.

No squeaky toys in my house, them things will drive you nuts, the squeaker is removed in the past but not necessary with present dog, they don't stand a chance.

Our chocolate lab considers "indestructible" labeling on a toy a personal challenge, especially if it has multiple squeakers. I think the record for squeakers living was an hour. It was some kind of a dragon with 20-something squeakers in it. Most of them went fast, but there was one left that took her a little while.

Coffee for the moment. Taking a run to the Avenue for lunch and NYE Beer Geek pre-party and then back home to keep the 85 pound baby from freaking out because of fireworks.

They really are simple.

  • Small pot of water
  • Bring to a boil

This is where you lost me. It's the same struggle I have making beer. Once I get to the bubbly water part, my brain just shows me rainbows and unicorns. Everything turns into white noise and when I regain consciousness, I get what I get.

Dead bodies everywhere.

Boring as hell here. Might take myself and my giftcards boot and shoe shopping to break the monotony. Save myself a trip to the city this weekend.

I've never poached an egg, but I will order eggs Benedict if it's on the menu. There's an awesome breakfast joint by TCU that does a Cajun Benedict that I'd run over your mother for.

I am jealous. VA is a state run only liquor sales state. DC should have it now or soon though. I was just giving you a hard time, Knob creek isnt bad.

Beans and breakfast is a winning combo.

So long as they are corralled safely away from other breakfast constituents. A sausage (proper Irish or UK version) or rasher of bacon will serve.

It helps if the beans are a little dried out and have the dried bits on the edge of the pot.

Sausage and Rasher on the civilized side of the pond :)

I told that story just for your enjoyment haha.

Just so you know... I take no enjoyment in knowing you got hurt.

However, I can't believe that I was being a dick and posting wipeout gifs and then it happened.

@1977Brewer a picture of the Stone Mountain carving on your beverage retainer? Details please.

Huh.. I assumed that was his reflection. Good eye.

Souvenir cup from Atlanta. One of the sales managers likes to bring me crap.

I do have the chiseled features of a stone monument. Thanks for noticing.

You're missing your grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. Then you'd have yourself a proper goddamned breakfast.

Heh... Modern equivalent of "them there be fightin' words"?

Yup. Add a fresh tomato slice with cracked black pepper on the side. Oh, and if you want to smoke your other half out, add some yeasty homebrew too. Jet propelled, all day.

See above. Tomato must be fried or grilled.

I was going to brew. Then I got sidetracked. Sorting my massive bottled homebrew stash as it was getting a bit unorganized. Got my grains milled, so and I'll brew in a bit. Drinking my Brett B Red. You've all seen my desk. You don't need to see it again.

You need some black pudding on there as nothing says breakfast like congealed pig blood.

This is how I picture your shopping experience going this afternoon

Never been a fan of grilled tomato but I can certainly conceded it belongs.

The picture was merely to illustrate what a sausage and rasher bean-coralling berm might look like.

Black and white pudding is great. Taiwan has a similar pig blood variant where the oats are subbed for rice in the blood. It's equally as fantastic.

Tea's all gone.

Beer soon.

View attachment 326521power breakfast served on top of a butcher block countertop. Trying it on for size next spring were (me) remodel the kitchen thinking about going SS and butcher block

I built my wife a dining table for Christmas using an old butcher block. Turned out nice IMO.

Drinking Sprite, trying to cleanse the house of soft drinks. OT if that matters.

Cleaning out my HB supplies and have come across the following. Any suggestions as to what I should brew? It will be PM

3lbs DME
3lbs 2 row
1lb Caramel 80
5oz Caramel 120
50z Caramel 60
1lb Chocolate Malt
1lb flaked oats
1oz Challenger
1oz SAAZ
1oz Mt Hood
1.5oz Fuggles
.5oz Northern Brewer
.5oz Hallertau
.5oz Perle

Muppet. Grilled or fried, either way is fine by me.

but I can certainly conceded it belongs.

Yes, because it's not a full breakfast without it.

I don't remember the last time I had black pudding. It's been a LOOOOOOOOONG time. I don't think I ever had white pudding. Definitely never had the Taiwanese version.

I was just giving you a hard time,

That's what she said, too. lol

Knob creek isnt bad.

Yep, that's why I got it. Wanted to have something that wasn't rot gut, but something that I wouldn't mind putting in a barrel just to keep it hydrated. I haven't decided if I'm using both bottles or going to drink some of one.

What batch size are you looking at?

I'd say that's more in the Porter realm (too big, too much roast, WAY too much hops for a Mild in a 5 gal batch).

Or is that just what you have on hand and you're not looking to use it all?

5 gallon batch.

I was thinking a porter, possible a vanilla coconut porter of sorts.

This is just what I have on hand, I am trying to clean out as I am about to start buying in bulk since I am moving over to AG. The grains that aren't used will end up in my mother in laws compost pile.
